Can you really see him traveling to Minnesota or New Orleans for a Championship Game with everything on the line and realistically playing at a level well enough to win those games. No way in hell. He may get some passing yards, he may not throw interceptions, but I can promise you he would not do enough to win those games. He never does. He never has at any level.
He can't even push them over the top to get them INTO the playoffs. He is not a leader on or off the field. Just because he is not throwing interceptions or fumbling, doesn't mean he is still not part of the problem. This is a team game. I agree. But if you look at the game yesterday the San Diego team had a much better QB who made plays when it mattered. Same with Eli when they beat the Cowboys two years ago in their playoff run. But if you want to take solace in the fact that Romo has a better statistical advantage and QB rating, then have at it. That and fifty cents will get you a cup of coffee.
I can easily see him traveling and playing well enough to win in those situations. I don't know about this team, but you're crazy if you don't realize that Romo is, at least, a VERY good QB. Even most of the analysts and mediots will admit to that. You act like his good stats are these mysterious things that have no bearing on games. Seriously, some of you guys are just nuts. Those "stats", you know TD's and stuff, are the things that help win games. The fact that he has roughly a 2-1 W/L record for a his career should also clue you in a little.
What part did he not do well enough to win this game? Explain to me...and try not to use the obscure, "makes plays when it matters," argument. I'm sorry, but is there ever a play that doesn't matter when a game is on the line. What is he supposed to do when Barber fails to get in the endzone after a good drive, and then Folk misses a field goal? Are those on him? I don't get it.
Let's also talk about when he gets a little more opportunities to pass the ball. What part of the last game did he not do well enough to win?
The fact is, Rivers is a very good QB. He also has huge receivers going up and coming down with the ball for him. Not to mention, you can't win them all.
Romo plays well enough to win games, and win big ones. His team and coaching may be a different matter. We are a Crayton drop away from not having this conversation.
