Do you think Romo's pride is taking a beating? To have no one step up and offer even a late round or conditional pick, at what point does he say, to hell with Houston or Denver. He can be up in the booth ripping them for not signing a veteran QB when Savage and/or Lynch stink it up.

We don't know if anything has been offered.

Maybe Houston is offering a fourth but we are holding out for a second or third. If that is the case, I believe we will regret it.

If he is, he's not thinking this deal through enough. There is a big risk/reward issue right now with Tony. Everyone in the league knows
when he's healthy Romo can be spectacular but, he's prone to be hurt if you don't have a iron fence OL. Teams seem to want to
talk to Tony if he was free but, draft picks are precious and who wants to give them up for a QB who is 37 and often hurt. I think in MVHO
that there are at least 3 teams who would probably take a risk with him but, probably not for picks. Might be a team that would trade a player
we'll have to see. Best guess, this thing will play out between today and the draft. If he is hurt, he can always retire and go to the booth.
He will certainly be in demand on tv.

I think he knows he eliminated most suitors by making it known he wants to play on a winner his last year or two.
And then the huge injury risk.
That cuts the pool way down before even gauging their actual interest.
I also think Jerry would prefer he not go to Houston, but not ad bad as Washington.

Nice to know he had good options outside of playing.
Retire and take it easy fir year or two with the family and young kids.
Retire and take a TV job right away

All good

And yes, not that hes ever been a bragger, but imsure his pride has been hurt some over the last 6 months in general.

I don't think it is taking a beating, my guess is Jerry keeps him in the loop, and he understands the business side . Plus didn't he say earlier that he didn't want to hurt his new team by having to give up too much for him
I also think that if they are keeping him in the dark, that agreement to not sign with certain teams flys out the window

Not at all...he likely truly hopes the team he lands on doesn't have to give up resources that can help get him to his ultimate goal...the Super Bowl. If his team has to give up a premium pick (I define that as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder others may view it differently) to land him that takes a possible starter and impact player off his new team's roster. He has said he plans on playing 2-3 more years (whether he physically can is unknown) so future premium picks given up hurt his chances and the new team's chances too.

Just my two pennies.

The only thing preventing Romo from being the starting QB on another team is his price tag versus his injury history. He has a hefty contract with the Dallas Cowboys, that is where his pride should be. Starting now or not, he didn't twist Jerry's arm to agree to that contract. Who can blame anyone else for not wanting to take on that contract? Pride has nothing to do with it.

kind of ironic that 14 years later, there's still apparently not a team willing to give up a draft pick for him

I doubt it. If I were Tony in this situation, the only thing that would be taking a beating is my patience, as I'd want this situation to be over one way or the other as soon as possible so I could be on my new team.

Don't listen to ANYTHING you hear in the news. Its all speculation by guys who in reality don't know any more about the situation than you or I.

How many times did you read this week Romo was getting released?

We have no idea if, at all, what's been offered.

I'm just going by the reports that neither Denver or Houston is willing to trade for Romo. However, I suppose he hasn't been released for a reason.

Everyone passed on him when he was eligible to be drafted too, I just think he is motivated this season no matter what....

I wonder if another team that was a place Romo didn't want to go offered a decent pick and now Jerry is using that to leverage other offers. Everyone knows the Texans and Broncos are interested in Romo, despite their poor attempts to downplay their interest. I don't think either team wants the other to get Romo so that could force the other's hand....

Tony is a smart man. He gets that he has to prove he can stay healthy. He knows the only reason he isn't our starting QB today is because he couldn't stay healthy.

Guys like him are not sitting around feeling sorry for himself.
