Jim Kelly?
He led a game winning Superbowl drive only to have his kicker miss in maybe the best superbowl game ever played.
played in 4 super bowls.
Holy cow.
iceberg;4987697 said:he's posting for pure reaction. we just can't call him by name anymore cause it could be "offensive".

Idgit;4987720 said:You can use the word 'troll' around me, as long as you use it nicely and not to personally attack or insult somebody. As far as I'm concerned, it's a fishing metaphor.
That said, hopefully we're all able to disagree with people who troll for reactions without letting the threads devolve into finger-pointing exercises. That's the reason the threads end up having to be moderated, and we all understand that, I think. At least I hope.

Idgit;4987736 said:Not sure what point you're trying to make. I think your argument in this thread is just awful. And I think you're making the hole deeper for yourself in trying to pull in Jim Kelly. Was that not clear? Or do you just think for some reason I'm not allowed to hold that opinion?

iceberg;4987740 said:he's trolling. if saying so gets me in trouble, that's what he's doing.
SilverStarCowboy;4987743 said:No, Am I?
You're just miserable.
iceberg;4987732 said:the problem is i can't use it across the board to describe what someone is doing.
i'll leave it at that.
iceberg;4987744 said:and you say some incredibly stupid stuff. i'm ok with getting personal if you are. PM me.
Idgit;4987746 said:The problem is that actually people weren't able to refer to an act of trolling without also letting the conversation devolve into acrimonious name-calling. And then they don't like it when we ask them to stop or enforce it when it gets out of control.
It's possible to disagree with people who are wrong on the internet without letting the posts get personal and having them spill from one thread or topic to another. Some folks aren't as good at managing boundaries, though, and can't help but let things get personal and stay personal. That creates a ton of extra work, which then leads to things like 'troll' references getting deleted, at which point people cry 'censorship.' Boo hoo. I've got better things do to with my evenings than spending them explaining why grown men shouldn't engage in slap fighting.
That's not directed at you, personally, or at any particular exchange. It's just my explanation for why I don't have a ton of sympathy for what happens when certain terms become unpopular and end up getting moderated. I've gotten my share of infractions for not playing nicely enough in my day, so I've been on both sides of that particular fence. The odd infraction here and there can be invigorating if it doesn't end up in an unwanted vacation.
But, yeah. I don't want to invite questioning of the board's moderation, so you're probably right that we should just leave the topic as it is from here.
SilverStarCowboy;4987748 said:lol yeh rite and no, thanks anyway
SilverStarCowboy;4987743 said:No, I have made a good argument about Kelly. Why didn't you refute that statement... Am I allowed to hold an opinion?

Idgit;4987753 said:What makes you think I think you're not entitled to a wrong opinion? Knock yourself out.
I didn't refute it because it's just not an argument I particularly wanted to engage in. Jim Kelly was a very good QB, and I don't feel like engaging with someone who doesn't believe that. There'd be very little point.
iceberg;4987762 said:romo has never made it to a superbowl. many would just love to see him win a game that advances us and the label fades.
SilverStarCowboy;4987768 said:If he makes a Bowl and loses will it matter.
Hopeless
