That's actually pretty interesting. Wonder what the QBR data looks like superimposed over the scoring defense for those 5 seasons.

Basically what the data tells us is that Romo has crap for supporting cast compared to the other top QBs in the league.

This will not be popular around these parts.:laugh2:

We should respect their point of view, but their emotions overcome their logic just way too often and then threads go downhill. I have been guilty of being dragged down with them. At the end of the day he's a good to great QB and there are about ten to twelve guys on this planet who you can say that about.

As far as the OP, good stuff and thanks for the time and effort although some may interpret it as misleading, it's hard to deny Romo has been at a disadvantage yet he has still at least gotten us in position to make a run.

Now he's gotta overcome all of this and make that run, then you don't have to worry about haters.

Nothing on this list is eyepopping. Romo is not the only QB surrounded by trash

There are fifty one other players on this team.

I guess some of you can't see beyond one player.

Maybe they could change the name of the team to the Dallas Romos.

And the logo on the helmet could be a ball cap turned around backwards and a golf tee.

It's like you don't really give a damn about the team, just this one guy. And anyone that disagrees is a hater.

This is why there is serious conflict sometimes around here.

Some think it is a team.

Others think this is a player only.

I'm not sure there's a non-subjective statistical way to determine that. The Steelers core is the only one I'd say isn't better.

I always wonder how many HOF-ers Staubach, White and Aikman played with vs Romo? Nice job, OP!

I log into this forum and often wonder....Is this the Cowboyszone or the Tonyromozone?

I find it odd that anyone who dislikes anything about Tony Romo and expresses their opinion about Romo immediately gets tagged as a HATER.

I was under the impression that this was a Dallas Cowboy Forum, not a specific player forum. There are plenty of players who have come and gone that we have all disliked but none that have drawn this much hate amongst Cowboy's fans.

When Romo first stepped on the field in Dallas I was one of the happiest Cowboys fans. I couldn't wait to get rid of Drew Bledsoe. After all a fan can only handle so many years of less than .500 ball. Romo wasn't expected to light up the league, he was simply asked to drive the bus.

Romo played his off and took this team to the playoffs. I was 100% behind him like I'm sure we all were. At the time I overlooked the fumble in Seattle and blamed the new slick ball theory. Like many of you I was on cloud 9 cause I knew a Super Bowl was only 1-2 years away.

Here we are a few years later and Cowboy's fans are separated over a guy named Tony Romo. I'm still not sure why there are those who call the non Romo supporter's "Haters." The NFL is a "what have you done for me lately league."

Is it fair to blame Romo for all of the downfalls on this team, definitely not.

Is it fair to throw Romo's passing stats in everyone's face to prove the point that he is a top 5 QB, definitely not!

The NFL is now a pass happy league. Romo has not always had the best group of lineman in front of him. But lets keep in mind this offense was built around him and that is why his passing stats are what they are. Jason Witten, T.O, Miles Austin, & Dez Bryant account for about 20,000 of Romo's 25,000 yards. Romo has always had Witten as his go to guy.

With all that said, I will tell you my love for Romo is no longer there. I am tired of the bone head mistakes. I believe he is the Barry Sanders of the QB position. Great stats but even if you did put the 90's line in front of him he would still over think it. (Barry is a HOF RB, I am only speaking of stats)

Like any fan I hope he proves me wrong. But until that day comes I will continue to wear the old worn out Cowboys shirts I bought about a year after Romo brought all that promise to our team.

We'll never know. The owner/GM clearly thinks he can skimp on the Oline because of Romo's mobility. He has flat out stated so and his actions have backed that up.

Yes, Romo makes boneheaded mistakes. But Eli actually has way more career turnovers then he does, and its not close.

Yet Eli has 2 rings and Tony does not. So what is the difference?

That he is. Though the defensive takeaways helped him out, too.
