Just curious if I'm going nuts here or if my analysis of that touchdown was simply off, but I heard the announcers mention the Bucs had a busted coverage. Perhaps that was true, but was it not because Romo looked into the flat and made a motion as if he was going to throw in that direction (don't know if what he did qualified as a true pump fake or not, but anyway...)? It seemed to me like that's when and why the defender bit, leaving Crayton streaking wide open. No?

I think you are dead on, it was hard to tell for sure because they never replayed his whole route but I think you are correct.

Yeah the safety bit on the pass in the flats.

Romo stared down Witten, and even turned his shoulders, the Safety bit, and 80 yards later Crayton scores a TD.

Yeah but Romo sucks and Crayton is not a #1 so anything beyond a 5 yd check down pass to him must be the result of bad defense.

I got so tired of Moose and the other guys talking about the "busted" coverage. God forbid the Dallas Cowboys' offense does something to disrupt a defense. BTW, Talib is only slightly above average in my opinion.

I agree, Garrett was creating a lot of confusion in the Bucs secondary by moving Witten and Bennett around. If anything he created mismatches that led to "busted" coverages. That is just good offense.

Crayton has football speed, his 40 time is not indicative of the speed he plays at, I've seen him burn many a secondary.

The guy responsible for Crayton absolutely bit on Romo's pump fake to the flat.

Yup, Romo even spoke of "holding the CB and Safety" with the slight fake to get Patrick in the open down the field.

I hate to play the 'woe is me, the announcers are biased' card, but I have to admit I was screaming at the TV at the perceived slight. If any other QB does what Romo did there, the announcers are wetting themselves. Which is why I bothered to post the thread; just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy and giving Romo undeserved credit.

Nah ROMO deserves credit for what he did today. I hate the fact that some "realists" try to take away from the big plays our offense made by saying it was the Bucs busted coverages that won us the game, when really it was our offense that led to those busted coverages..just sayin

This Sunday, we'll find out if Collinsworth is an equal-opportunity wetter.

The Bucs have long been a team that prides itself on defense and somehow they come out and have busted coverage after busted coverage.

Not buyin it.

Even if they were busted coverages, I could care less. Let every other team in the league have "busted coverages" too.

If Talib is slightly above average, what is Roy Williams? He shut Roy down all day. I was impressed with his play personally.

That play was well designed, well set up, and well executed. Everyone bit on the pump fake to Witten in the flats and personally I don't blame them. I would have bet you $1000 when Romo started scrambling to his right, he was looking for Witten short. Wasn't it just last Thursday that we had to listen all game about Ben R.'s pump fakes and how effective they were? While that may be true, Romo did the exacte same thing on that play and its described as a busted coverage. BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
