Collins wasn't even active on Sunday which lends one to believe the coaching staff views Berny as their top backup at guard.

Not really. Bern is just more versatile. I suspect Collins to be active and involved.

Tough week for injuries.

Cowboys just need to survive the next month.

Great...

I'm not feeling good about this game. The last thing you want is to lose a starting lineman vs that D-line.

If I was the Cowboys staff, I would start the kid and keep Bern as the backup. If you lose Bern, you lose your backup center.

Sorry, but you don't start inferior player due to fear of injury. If Bern is the better option, you start him.

This one bothers me than the other injuries......our OL was a wall.....but now that wall has a crack in it. I worry for Romo and our RBs. Hopefully Berny can step in and do a solid job.

If this bothers you more than Dez and Gregory, then that is an issue.

We have two perfectly good guards to fill in for Leary.

this is why they have been giving Martin snaps in practice at center. Bernie will start and Collins will be active

Fear? Your words.

Inferior player? Thanks for the scouting report, I'll remember to consult with you on future personnel transactions.

What other reason would it be? You don't start a guy because there is the potential he is injured and we lose a backup at the other position at the same time. That's fear.

I never said it's a fact that he IS inferior, I'm saying if they believe Bern is the true backup to Leary, you don't start Collins if Fred is still healthy.

if you cannot figure out that right now Bernie is the better guard then you need to retake football 101

Wow...

Starting guard--GONE!
Starting WR--GONE!
Starting corner--GONE!
Nickel pass rusher--GONE!

The spread has swelled from 4 to 6. Sunday is a must-win for Philly, in their place. This game is over. All the experts say so!

I agree with Skip: Cowboys should just stay in Dallas this weekend.

I agree Bern is currently the more reliable backup. I also believe the rookie can make progress alongside The Beard and Smith.

I'm going to start Collins at guard if I think he can be a solid starter in a reasonable amount of time. What he lacks in experience he can make up for with talent.

This Philadelphia defense will be throwing in multiple stunts, blitzes, and the kitchen sink...good game for Collins to be suited up.

As to their offense, they utilize the line of scrimmage marks away from the opposing defense, to wear them out getting on the field...and then maintain a very quick flow of tempo.

I can see both sides of this - I believe, no matter how Leary plays this year, he's gone. Collins needs reps eventually. BUT this is a win now league, if Bern is the better player and helps us win games, you have to start him.

I will understand both decisions. But I want us to win games.
