I think they will keep 3 backs and put the others on the Practice squad.

If it were me, Id have Pollard and Dowdle as my lone two RBs for the first two games. RoJo on the suspended list.
Go long somewhere else. Maybe OL, LB or Secondary.
Then after Joness suspension is over, he gets activated and we sneak one of those long positions to the PS.
But what do I know.

Oh what a terrific idea to let go of our 6th round playmaker Deuce Vaughn. You are going to have a lot of gm offers. I tell ya. A football genius in the making.

My focus would be on winning, not sure what Jerry is focused on. Buying another yacht? Maybe he wants to fly in space like another ego maniac?

At this point, he would need a "highlights reel" play or two just to remain on the team. The Cowboys could use a little more veteran experience at the position, but he's going to have to earn it.

They have done an excellent job in building the current team and are lined up to contend again next year as well.

Of course Jones will get snaps this game, he is expendable and the Cowboys sure don't want to get Pollard, Deuce or even Davis hurt in this meaningless game. Expect to see very little action from Davis and even less from Deuce. Already made the team and gots to save them for the opener. Ronald Jones and Dowdle will probably get the majority of the work. Davis a little.

He’s the only other vet RB we have.

Has more rushing TDS than Tony.

He’s our week 3 RB2.

I think they have to keep at least 3. I think Deuce has made it to where he can't be cut. He's looked too good, and his style of play is essential in a WCO. I think if we try to move him to the PS, he's going to get snapped up quickly by another team.

With all due respect to Vaughn, Dowdle is the Cowboys’ RB2 and will figure more heavily into the offensive game plan.

Both players can flourish in the offense. Dowdle just figures to see more work when Tony Pollard needs a breather and on passing downs when Dallas wants extra protection for Dak Prescott. No reason to pit one RB against the other.
