How many instances has Jerry Jones' paid a player a huge contract, eventually let the player, turned around, and re-signed the player to a minimum contract? Even if it was to shore up position depth with a veteran?

I do not know. Seems to me the odds of Jones doing something like an atypical player acquisition move and reclaiming Ezekiel Elliott is low to none.

Just another nail in Joneses coffin.
No reason he needs the reps. He’s suspended to start the season and a vet so if the other guys beat him out you get 2 games to keep him as insurance and if he’s not needed just cut him them

The reason you gave is the reason he needs the reps, he’s going to be suspended the first couple of games. If he shows something in camp and preseason it gives the Cowboys a reason to hang onto him. Him being out with an injury is allowing the other backs to get opportunities. If someone steps up while Jones is out he could end up expendable. This is what played a big part in James Washington being released last year.

And a lot of fans on here thought he'd be our #2 RB :lmao2:

I admit to being on the James Washington bandwagon, just a total waste of a roster spot.

I don't remember a single positive review or comment on this player. Do you?

Dowdle and Luepke are licking their chops.
If Dowdle is healed up he was flashing. Could be any RB time to shine. Luepke is supposed to be a bruiser I think. Could be his time. And Deuce needs to take advantage but JJ likes his guys. Elliot maybe getting a call for a try out to see if he healed up.

Davis needs to prove he deserves the RB2, some live action is going to be healthy for this young backfield.
Reps are like gold to the rook RBs.

Davis and Dowdle by all accounts have been the better backs and are the main competitors for RB2.

You bring a guy like Jones in as a vet incase those young guys can’t step up. But it seems on based off what the vibes from camp have been that Davis and Dowdle will be fine battling for the main backup role.

Yeah. During the playoff loss Malik was put in after Pollard went down and got blown by trying to block for Dak. I had forgotten about it because he was quickly removed from the game but also had an issue with the staff earlier in the week about not being used. He needs to get his head right. Elliot was a champ at blocking and wonder if he don’t get a call soon.

Depends.

I like Davis' ability. But question his heart. That leaves Luepke, DV, Dowdle behind TP, maybe some Princeton Fant as FB.

I think there's a decent chance. He won't be playing in the first two games. Then, there's always Zeke. I personally think we need to move on from Zeke...he's too one-dimensional nowadays.

I also want to see Luepke and Vaughn get some action..we may already have our backs.
We made him that way. If our changes are gonna help us...it would help him too, yes?

Man he’s having a rough camp. I don’t care, I got faith in my guy Malik Davis. He’s my pet cat from last year and still is my pet cat this year. I’m hoping for Pollard as RB1 and Davis/Deuce as RB2 and RB3.

Maybe you shouldn't be so self centered and consider other people's viewpoints.
