Who was the player that signed on to advertise a protein powder. And then was suspended for a long time. Because the powder had a trace of a HGH in it. This was prior to the new CBA.

And the NFL said too bad, he should have asked the NFL about it before he signed on and tried it.

They would not reverse the decision. They won’t with Jones either. It what the NFL does.
Goodell is the Judge, Jury, Executioner.

Jones should appeal. I fail to understand why he was suspended. Heart medication???

Dang Goodell. But he doesn't have it out for the Cowboys, right?
I would think that player and the NFLPA have to place an appeal,, right ?

I'm not sure I understand the PED rules,.. does a player get a firm warning first from NFL for a violation, before he is eventually suspended upon the
next time violation ?

Google search for NFL CBA PEDs:

The new CBA also changes the policy on performance-enhancing drugs:

  • First failed test for stimulants or diuretics is a two-game suspension
  • First failed test for anabolic steroids is a six-game suspension
  • Manipulation or substitution and use of a prohibited substance is an eight-game suspension
  • Second failed test for stimulants or diuretics is a five-game suspension
  • Second failed test for anabolic steroids is a 17-game suspension

I wonder if anyone who was ragging on Jones in the other thread feels like maybe they need to hear both sides before condemning a man.

Nah
They should have known when it was announced a 2 game suspension and not more.

I understand that this seems ridiculous that a guy is suspended for using a prescribed heart medication, but the players know and they've been told numerous times by the league that before you take ANY medication prescribed that you should inform the team doctors of the medication so they can tell you whether it meets the league banned substance list..

If the guy is saying it's for his heart, it's probably a diuretic.
When I had hypertension that was prescribed to me and it seems the league has a blanket call on diuretics so whatcha gonna do?

Retire from being a pro football player because you need to pee more?

A lot of diuretics are prescribed to lower blood pressure. Perhaps that is what was discovered?
