If the guy is saying it's for his heart, it's probably a diuretic.
When I had hypertension that was prescribed to me and it seems the league has a blanket call on diuretics so whatcha gonna do?

Retire from being a pro football player because you need to pee more?
Notify the teams doctors before taking it, it's not that hard folks!!!
Ignorance of the league's rules isn't a defense!!

Right on. Maybe there's an alternative to diuretics that a medical doctor knows.
Maybe there isn't.
I certainly don't know. My doctorate was very much not medical.

There are alternatives to diuretics. Usually diuretics work the best for lowering blood pressure in African Americans. It was probably the first medication that was prescribed by his doctor. There are different classes of anti-hypertensives. It's possible to switch him to something else, unless he has allergies to those medications.

Takes a supplement while playing with the Bucs and Chiefs. Zero problems. Takes the same supplement and is suspended as soon as he comes to Dallas. Sounds like business as usual for Goodell.
So what is it when players get busted on other teams?

Y’all indignant fans don’t even think your complaints through.

Thank you for the info.
Food for thought.
I think @Runwildboys also makes a good point in his previous post.

LOL, cmon guys, lets get real
He taking a doctor prescribed heart medicine for years and the NFL knows it and only now he tests positive for a banned substance for the first time and gets suspended? And the players union and the player meekly accept the suspension?

I know we are all homers here but he is not being honest

2 game suspension. Either a stimulant, or a diuretic.
That's it. No mas.
You make the call. Dude on steroids? That's a 6'er.
I posted the CBA rules.

That sucks. I don't understand how, or why a heart med can cause a suspension.
Probably because he’s lying. How many players admit to cheating when they get busted?

Do they all get routinely tested, or are there events that trigger tests, such as joining a new team?

Does RJones have to stop taking his medicine now?
Exactly !! What's he supposed to do now ? Does he have to retire ? Won't his next test come up positive again ? He'll probably have to be on those meds for life. Isn't there a way for the NFL to differentiate medicine from performance enhancing drugs? What a bunch of idiots in the league office.

Players have an app to help them determine if the medication is not on the approved list. However, I wouldnt be surprised if some medications just dont come up. It seems impossible to cover everything.

If it is truly related to a heart medication he should appeal, though by the time they review he may back anyway.
