Rookie Mazi Smith posted 25% pass rush win rate on 8 pass rushing snaps in W4 vs NE

They aren't double teaming him.

Its just that he's so FAT....that on any given play, at least 2 olineman can't circumnavigate his body before the play is over....giving the illusion he's being double teamed.
Get the footage when you get out the basement and get service brotha

With McCaffrey, just be exactly where you are supposed to be and dominant...that's all.

So far , I’m baffled. If the plan was to park the guy on the bench for 70% of the game , why use a first round pick on him?

I heard there's some ocean front property for sale in Arizona, but I didn't buy that either.

Are they double teaming Mazi because he's already such a good player, or is double teaming a DT the standard procedure in the NFL?
Typically they aren’t true double teams, they’re combo blocks where one of the o-line man doubles for a second then gets to the second level and try and get an LB.

Simple example. Outside zone run to the right. The RG and C will combo block the play side DT (assuming a 3 technique) with the OG working up for the scraping backside LB.

He was our first round draft pick and isn’t getting many snaps. He only got 17 snaps in a blowout. That ties for the most snaps he’s gotten all season. It’s obvious they’re not thrilled with how he’s performed so far or he would be playing more. The problem hasn’t been our pass rush. It’s been defending the run and that’s the primary reason Smith was drafted.

This isn’t a stat I’m concerned about. Smith isn’t a pass rushing DT. He only had half a sack his entire career at Michigan. Is he eating up blocks and freeing up our linebackers on run plays? That’s what he’s here for
