New name in Joe Protheroe, fullback from Cal Poly as a try-out player along wtih Phillip Nelson.

Any list out of the rookie invitees. Other than Nelson and Protheroe.

Guyton will take Beasly spot..no doubt.. well some LOL small Ntx school speed, lets do this!!

Not a single kicker on the list.

Still can't seem to find where Marc Orozco went. And I don't understand why Dallas doesn't seem to think it needs to challenge Maher.

I agree, but I believe Garrett is going for a more of an "orientation" type minicamp as opposed to a workout-based program. This is a trend that is catching on as more teams are opting for more classroom work than true field work.

If there is minimal field work, there is no reason to bring in a kicker at this stage.

To me, it is a must once camp begins in earnest. It is criminal if Maher is uncontested at that point. If anything else, another camp leg to keep his leg fresh at the very least.

So the minicamp offense is:

QB Phillip Nelson
FB Joe Protheroe
RB Jordan Chunn, Tony Pollard, Mike Weber
TE Codey McElroy
WR Jon'vea Jackon, Jaylen Guyton, Reggie Davis
OL Mitch Hyatt, Larry Allen Jr., Connor McGovern, Brandon Knight, Jake Campos, Derrick Puni

Defense:
DE Joe Jackson, Jalen Jelks, Ricky Walker
DT Trysten Hill, Daniel Wise, Shakir Soto
LB Kyle Quiero, Justin Phillips, Andrew Dowell, Luke Gifford, Nate Hall
CB Michael Jackson, Chris Westry, Donovan Olumba
S Donovan Wilson

I guess long snapper Drew Scott gets to play the other safety position by default, since he has no one to snap the ball to anyway.

That's what I understand as well, so that's a good point. I would have still brought in a couple of kickers and had them out there showing me what they could do during breaks in the orientation or before or after it. I'm sure we'll eventually cut some bottom of camp player and bring in kicker competition, but we don't seem to be taking it seriously.

That is the list. Just two workout players.

Ok, a smaller group this year, as in the past they would have around 15 or so come in.
Maybe it is due them “liking their guys” as from a depth standpoint. :muttley:
