After examining our draft, it appears Tony Romo got what he needed in the off season--a few more weapons to rely on.

Marion Barber won't have to worry about carrying the load himself. He's got teammates Felix Jones and Tashard Choice to rely on. And they're good!

And T.O.,Witten, Crayton and Co. can all have a good laugh at how they can't stretch the field.

Right?

They know all about that. Just ask them about last year. They heard it when Terry Glenn was a nursing and injury and the critics chimed in that they wouldn't be able to stretch the field.

But stretch the field they did. And they went on to set a single season TD record on Thanksgiving day, with a few games left to build on the record. Yet they weren't the fastest team on the field....

Now we pretty much have the same team but, according to some fans, the sky is falling because of the loss of their beloved Terry Glenn. It's hard to hate on Terry, so I won't do it. I'm thankful for what he did when he was here. He made us better and he played hard.

But I have my reasons for thinking we'll be OK, in spite of the media sensation, the distractions and the nay-saying bobble heads.

Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.

Add Marion Barber who doesn't need a highlight reel to do any talking for him and we've got a 1,2,3 punch.

Pretty nifty--considering the sky is falling, Wade Phillips is on the outs if he doesn't win. And Romo is off, heads in the clouds, with Jessica playing golf and what not.

If the goal was to garner players who have the ability to contribute, mission accomplished. We've landed two outstanding running backs who I'm sure will compliment Marion Barber and contribute to this team.

With Felix Jones, we have a shifty runner who can get upfield in a hurry. If this highlight reel doesn't get you excited, drink some coffee and pinch yourself. Then watch it again. Felix Jones is a beast.

If you doubt Jones' ability in the passing game, watch the below youtube. I'm excited about this guy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4miK7GnuSAI

He reminds me of Terrell Davis because he only needs that one move and then he's gone upfield.

But he has something special that we haven't seen since Julius Jones lost his mojo from Parcells "robotic" coaching style. He definitely looks like a man amongst boys, which brings me to the next guy, Tashard Choice.

I didn't know a lot about this guy, but I did some research and I'm excited about Tashard Choice. He had two seasons over 1,300 yards in his junior and senior year at Goergia Tech and finished as their all-time leading rusher.

I didn't know about that. But the below youtube showed me some of the reasons he was able to accomplish such astounding stats. The one below that tells us why we he fell to us.

As far as running backs, it looks like we hit pay dirt. Once again, I don't need to mention Marion Barber. We know what he can do. But I think the offense picked up some good weapons in the off season. For you clip junkies, I found Choice's best career game. It's not as flashy, but it shows he has some endurance.

The future is bright. We've got as good as shot as we've ever had.

Can we win the Super Bowl?

I guess we'll see about that.

Excellent post Ben.......You do know how to make your point..:)

I think Felix and Barber are going to be a RB tandem that will prove to be something special.

As for Choice.....I need to see more of him before I make any kind of call.

I agree, it'll mostly be a 1,2 punch. But Choice is a solid #3 for when we're blowing them out and what not.

I need to see more of Choice as well, but as for now I think Jones and Barber will be a knock out tandem.

I am looking forward to seeing jones and choice. Choice said he was emulating what barber and witten doing in practice and the offseason. How they handle themselves and train.

He seems like a good dude to have an our team. I am really looking forward to seeing choice.

I'm pretty sure that Choice will come along to be a good back. But I think Jones is already there.

At least that's what I gather from clips, which is all I can go on... or care to go on.

I think this helps out the offense if Felix and Choice are just better than Julius. Julius got stuffed a ton and that killed momentum on drives and left the team with a lot of 2nd and/or 3rd and longs. Romo has been fantastic at converting on 3rd downs, so it would be exciting to see how they can do if they weren't left with such long yardage in those situations. And if Felix can be as good as advertised catching passes, look out.

Jones has a 9 minute highlight reel as a part time RB. Most guys have a hard time filling 2 minutes.

I think Felix may turn out to be the steal of the draft. He's not the scat back or pure speed guy that so many people want to pigeonhole him as. I think he's a complete NFL back with great hands, tremendous vision and excellent speed, and had he gone to a D-1 school where he didn't play behind a Heisman candidate, he may well have been a Heisman candidate himself.

No he's not a "scatback" type.

He's bigger than Westbrook, and I think he could be a 20 carry-per-game back if he needed to be.

That was a great highlight reel of Felix Jones. Before (and since) the draft I kept looking a highlight reels and all they ever showed was Jones outrunning people and that is not going to work in the NFL. But this reel showed him putting on moves and lowering his head to get some tough yards. Thanks for posting this I feel a whole lot better about "the Cat" now.

I'm extremely pleased with the depth of our team at the Runningback position so I'm not too worried at all about that spot.

I can't say much about the Choice vids. The first one was so cheesy in it's overdigitized look that you couldn't make out some of the small details that I like to look for...still what was visable was pretty impressive. I like the way he attacks the line of scrimage and moves the pile, and he showed some good moves and a little speed as well. I'm reallly looking forward to seeing him in a game.

I have no comment about his statements (or excuses) about why he wasn't better known. It is what it is.

So did a lot of NFL defensive backs.

I'm not saying that I don't appreciate his speed...I do. I'm just saying that you have to have a more complete package than JUST speed and until this highlight reel I had never seen it.

Most players have a person, most often an amateur, record them and focus on them just for the purpose of their highlight reel--probably part of the reason that one is kinda of crappy.

But I get the point. He can run the ball and a push. Sorta like Barber, I think.

Hey, Jack... A poster here, I think it was, made a Youtube of every carry Felix had against LSU last year. It's pretty impressive, and may have more of what you're looking for. Obviously, not every run is spectacular, but it shows him running hard and getting some tough yards that don't show up on a highlight reel. In particular, he was called on to get a critical 4th and 2 and a two-point conversion late in the game. I know I thought a lot more of Felix after watching it.

Chocolate, I'd like to see that link or any other links of Felix or Tashard... It's not like I have anything better to do than watch some reels on our new players before the preseason game on Sunday.

Oh, gosh, it's going to be fun. We're going to dominate both side of the ball on a regular basis.

Cowboys fans, welcome back to greatness.
