Rooting for Eagles or Seahawks Next Week?

i.e. - what offers best chances of Dallas making the playoffs

Well, if the Seahawks win next week (and assuming Dallas wins against the Bears), then it is another matchup for the NFC East lead after that. If Dallas were to win out the rest of the season, then they would become the NFC East champs, but I don't think that winning out is in the cards for Dallas. If they were to lose one game somewhere along the line, then the tie-breaker would most likely go in favor of the Eagles.

On the other hand, let's say that the Eagles hand the Seahawks another loss - then Dallas would own a potential wild card tie-breaker against Seattle if they finished the season with the same record (this is all assuming that Dallas loses no more than 2 games in the last 4 weeks which might not be a good assumption at all - in fact, I see another final game win/enter playoffs, lose/go home scenario shaping up).

And playing as a wild-card might also be favorable for Dallas given their home/visitor performance this year.

So, who is hoping for which outcome and why? (and this may all be a mute point if Dallas plays like this past game)

I think it would be better if the Seahawks lose, so it will be harder for them to win their division. Arizona holds the tie breaker over the Cowboys, so the less the Seahawks win the better.

I'm not sure. I can see the benefits either way. If you're going for the division, which I think is still our best chance, you need the Eagles to lose and us to beat them the next time we play.

If you think the wildcard is where we'll end up, then you hope that Seattle loses and if they're still in the wildcard mix at the end, we'll have the tiebreaker on them.

I would not root for Philly if I were hung above the open pit of Hell it's self, and Satan was slaping me with a carving fork.

Please God, let the Seahawks beat the crap outta the Eagles so we can get a crack at the playoffs!

I would settle for them just beating them down like the Packers did, regardless of what impact it has on the Cowboys playoff hopes. I cannot stand them, cannot stand their fans. I even hate Rocky Balboa now because of them.

LOL -- I fully concur with that perspective. Philly is the bunghole of places to be and their residents are the epitome of all things despicable. Their team's players are parentless -- one day a buzzard **** on a rock and the sun hatched them. Those are but a few of their more wholesome characteristics . . .

At this point, it's not even a question as far as I'm concerned. We need, and want, to win the division. That means we need to win games and the Eagles need to lose games. If we don't take care of business that's on us, and then I'll start pondering all of the "what if" wild card scenarios.

I think Philly will beat Seattle something like 31-17. Seattle can't score at the pace Philly can and plus Philly is at home. Seattle just doesn't have the offense to win a game like this on the road.

Seattle is back, look out this team can win it all again this year. The Philly game will be no contest as Seattle will breeze by them.

Defense is what counts. Philly will be lucky to score 14 on them.

This should be a really good game. Both these teams are making the playoffs. This is probably the best game next week.
