they have to win at bears or its over to many teams have the tie breaker on them. they have to win their season hinges on this game
I would not root for Philly if I were hung above the open pit of Hell it's self, and Satan was slaping me with a carving fork.
Win Thursday and we gain a game on whoever loses Sunday.
This Chicago game is a pretty big deal, eh? But yeah, if we can win there, the Seattle/Philly game outcome helps us either way-whether youre gunning for the division or wildcard.
i.e. - what offers best chances of Dallas making the playoffs
Well, if the Seahawks win next week (and assuming Dallas wins against the Bears), then it is another matchup for the NFC East lead after that. If Dallas were to win out the rest of the season, then they would become the NFC East champs, but I don't think that winning out is in the cards for Dallas. If they were to lose one game somewhere along the line, then the tie-breaker would most likely go in favor of the Eagles.
On the other hand, let's say that the Eagles hand the Seahawks another loss - then Dallas would own a potential wild card tie-breaker against Seattle if they finished the season with the same record (this is all assuming that Dallas loses no more than 2 games in the last 4 weeks which might not be a good assumption at all - in fact, I see another final game win/enter playoffs, lose/go home scenario shaping up).
And playing as a wild-card might also be favorable for Dallas given their home/visitor performance this year.
So, who is hoping for which outcome and why? (and this may all be a mute point if Dallas plays like this past game)
With 4 games left a lot of things can still happen but the Cowboys best shot at making the playoffs is to win the division. If the Cowboys take care of business in Chicago and Seattle beats Philly the Cowboys could regain the division lead with a win over Philly in week 15. The Cowboys have already dug themselves a hole for a wildcard spot with 4 conference losses and a tiebreaker disadvantage to AZ and SF. There's a log jam in the race for the wildcard spots with 7 teams that have 5 losses or less which means a 10 or even an 11 win team could end up on the outside looking in.
If Philly beats Seattle they'll be loaded with confidence heading into their week 15 rematch with the Cowboys which would set the Cowboys up for another beating. If the Cowboys lose to Philly in week 15 that will be another conference loss which will further damage their chances at a wildcard. If Philly gets past Seattle and the Cowboys they'll have the division in their grasp finishing out with Washington and the Giants. If the Cowboys get past the Bears and lose again to Philly that could set them up for another bad showing at home with the Colts and Andrew Luck coming to town. If the Cowboys don't start regaining their confidence next week they're done.
I don't think Philly's confidence will be shaken if Seattle beats them, Green Bay annihilated them and they bounced back by clobbering the Cowboys in their house with 1st place on the line. Philly is a bad matchup for the Cowboys and the Eagles know it.

If we lose to the Bears we have to root for the Eagles
if we beat the Bears we have to root for the Seahawks
If we lose to the sorry arse Bears our season is done.........doesn't matter what happens with Philly and Seattle.
Always rooting for anybody and everybody to beat the Eagles!
