i'm sure i'm annoying to some people also but that doesn't make me less of a person, just annoying to some people as we all can be.

I used to think Rosie was hilarious.

Then her whole persona became about her being gay and pissed off.

It reminds me of what happened with Ellen, Roseanne, and Howard Stern.

Only Ellen has went back to what she is good at.

Hopefully Rosie goes back to being a comedian one day.

You're right, she has done a lot of good.

Comedians just have a knack for cutting all the way to the bone when they criticize something. I think using the word "vile" for some of her comments is not at all out of line. Notice that I said "vile comments" not "vile person"--though some would readily say that too.

Her 9-11 truther tirades were pretty hurtful to a very wide range of people, just to name one of many examples.

Look, Rosanne or Bill Maher are much more frequently hateful than Rosie. Some are just good at it when they want to be.

maybe this is it for me too. be funny but be "southpark" funny in you take no sides, all is fair game. but when you use that to push a political or highly personal point of view, you're not a comedian anymore, but a mouthpiece for that and it's annoying to those who are on the other side.

but it's not funny when it's targeted and personal.

All fish have to balance their internal water content with the external water mineral concentration. It's called the osmotic balance. A fish in saltwater has more freshwater than the surrounding ocean water so the salt wants to pass into its tissues. Basic concentration gradient diffusion. An excess of salts causes all kinds of metabolic issues not the least of which is desiccation of tissues within a fish if the concentration gradient isn't maintained.

What's that have to do with the above two posts? Well, sharks have a unique way of dealing with osmotic balance that's very primitive. They store urea (the stuff that makes pee stink) in their tissues and bloodstream. Those of you with gout are probably really familiar with urea and uric acid. There's a special gland in most shark's urinary tract that captures urea from the urine stream and recycles it.

So that kind of funny smell in your shark steaks that aren't soaked in freshwater or milk before cooking?

That would be shark piss.
