No way do we give up a 4th for Jones. Armchair GMs who think this need to rethink the way they think.

I wouldn't be in any hurry to sign Jones, if he wasn't 6'6 and fast no one would care. I realise that he is an amazing prospect, but if he doesn't care then don't waste the roster spot on him. Who do you cut to make room for him? I'd take a half fit Glenn over him.

The fact is that he is 6'6" and fast. If Pacman wasn't talented, nobody would care either.

Personally, I would cut Miles Austin or see if Parcells was willing to give up a late-round draft pick for him.

It's not like he's a real factor at this point and the team has acquired several solid kick returners.

I think Matt Jones has better abilities than any receiver not named Owens.

How does Parcells fit into the equation? Jones plays in Jacksonville.

What do you mean by abilities? If you are talking size and speed, you are right. So far he hasn't really shown any of the other important skills required by wide receivers.

I think it is very telling that a team like Jacksonville that needs quality receivers may be looking at cutting ties with him. That they think Troy Williamson, who has been a bust up to this point is a better option says alot.

Pats only gave up a 4th rounder for Randy Moss. You want to give up a 4th rounder for Matt Jones? I do recall he had a pretty good rookie season but hasn't down much since. Sort of agree he might do better in Dallas under Ray Sherman; heck if Sherman can handle Jevon Walker then Matt Jones would be a *****cat. If Jones alleged lack of interest in football is for real, maybe our passing attack would excite him. Jags probably will shop him, if they haven't already, but would wait til they cut him. Don't want to cut either Hurd or Austin unless Jones really shows us something -- maybe he'll be available for TC?

I'd give up a 6th rounder for a shot at getting Jones to realize his potential. At the very least, he would provide the deep threat we need opposite TO.
