Seems almost every year the team cuts someone that takes most off guard, and keeps a player that around this time of the year most fans gave little shot to make the roster.

Who do you think will be this years surprise additions and subtractions to this years regular season roster

surprise Cut: Hanna and Devin Street
Surprise Makes the roster: Goodley, Chuckey Hunter

Cuts:
All of the FBs (They could keep 4 TEs).
Weeden
An OL - Maybe Bernadeau if somebody else proves to be capable of being the backup Center. I wonder if Martin cross trains as the backup Center.
Hayden - Just wishful thinking on my part.
A LB - Doubtful, but if they feel they just have to keep a guy like Nzeocha, then a guy like Brinkley could be in jeopardy despite guaranteed money in his contract. If another team signed him to a veterans minimum deal, that amount would come off the amount of guaranteed base salary the Cowboys owe him. They would still owe him about 1.25M in bonus money.
Carr - If they think Jones is going to start over Carr, then it would be really difficult to justify his big salary. The ability of White, Patmon or possibly Claiborne to be the 3rd CB would be a factor in this also.

Additions:
Maybe a RB, but I don't think they are trying very hard to find another one.
Maybe a Punt returner if none of the UDFAs look good there.

I think Carr will be the surprise cut and Geoff Swaim will be a surprise stay

I think the staff likes Swaim as a young Witten. I'm not sure who he might displace. Could be that we keep 4 TE's and no FB's, as XW suggested.
Or Hanna could be packaged and shipped.

Just watching the tape from the rookie OTA, Swaim looked faster than I thought he would be, he looked smooth in his routs as well. Hard to judge him off the college numbers, playing at Texas with a poor QB and a system that did not look to the TE often. I interested in seeing how this kid fairs this training camp

It's getting harder and harder to make this roster.

I'd say that there are only a handful of spots available at this point. Best chances of making this team are for defensive ends and defensive tackles. Those bottom roster spots are really in flex. Linebacker is another good spot.

Randle makes Dunbar expendable and Days will be on the practice squad.

I'm not sure if that is true. I think Dunbar offers something that no one else on the roster offers, Randle and Williams on the other hand don't really give you much of a difference. You want a guy like Dunbar, but do you need Randle and Williams? And that's assuming McFadden makes the team. A lot of people consider him the starter, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets cut.

Why all the "dislike" for Devin Street lately.
He had limited playing time for a 1st WR, which most take a good 3 years to show anything at all. He had Dez, TWill, Beasley ahead of him, as well as Harris too.
I predict he makes a big jump to as why he was drafted.
They will not keep 2 rookie WR's from the group of UDFA's they have, unless they keep 6 on the roster.

A lot of people dislike Devin Street because they thought that 5th round draft pick could have been used to help the defense, and when he was in the game he had a ton of drops.

I'll go with Weeden as my surprise cut. Hanna was my first pick, but I need the QB spot for my surprise stay.

Surprise stays are harder, because the most likely UDFAs to stick are return guys and that's not a surprise, really. I'll go with Jameill Showers, backing up Dustin Vaughan for a season until we bring in some stiffer competition.

That could happen.

Showers was narrowly beaten out at A&M by Manziel, then transferred; he has some talent.
