No, I'm saying that if you think you're going to add 320 players to the active rosters and keep the salary cap at the same level, then you don't understand how the system works. That's basically a 20% increase in the number of players and you think they are going to be okay splitting the same old pie? That's not going to happen. They are going to demand a matching increase in the salaries which in turn will take money directly out of the owner's pockets. That will never happen so neither side will be in favor of the proposal.
1. It would be a negotiation between the NFL and the NFLPA. It can happen. Practice players reduce practice snaps for veterans. Players want to ban weed testing but will have to give up something get it. Players probably like the idea of increasing the 46 man gameday roster because that would add more special teams players.
2. It's not close to 20% in terms of money because the added players are the lowest paid. The agents are the ones that really drive the NFLPA and the money available to them overall would be the same.
3. The players would like less preseason games. The NFL could agree to limit vested veterans to 2 ps games and use only young players for the others.
4. It has been said that if they ever go to 18 games, that the NFLPA actually wanted to increase roster sizes including the 46.
5. I personally just want to make the practice squad protected. It probably wouldn't take much to get the NFLPA to agree to that change.
