You guys should be substituting ostrich for turkey in your recipes. On second thought that would be cannibalism. As you were.
Just add some Roy Williams for flavor :D

Now you're into movie quotes - "it may be horsemeat before this campaign's over".....

Maybe we can do a combo.

Recipes from movies or something like that.

try adding a bit of garlic, onions, and oregano.....sage may also do the trick, as it is a popular poultry spice.

Sage might be a really good idea, thanks. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I was actually thinking of steaming them with beer then popping them in the oven but I think I'll try a heavy dose of sage first.

Why is it Turkey Divan when the recipe calls for chicken?

It's a common dish made with either Turkey or Chicken The original recipe title read "Chicken or Turkey Divan". I removed the word chicken from the title, in the spirit of the thread, but didn't change chicken to turkey in the directions. My fault. Thanks for catching it. I'm too late to edit it.

Hey that gives me a idea why don't we just beat a horse until its dead and eat that?

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? Whoops, sorry. I think that's a movie title.

Hos doesn't seem to be around so I'll say that that line was from the John Wayne/Henry Fonda classic Fort Apache.

Didn't Billy Joe something have this a while back? I think it was on TNT, dinner and a movie, he would cook a recipe with Annie Potts or someone while they played a movie:laugh2:

I've been working on a turkey stuffed mushroom recipe for a while now. Last year I tried chopped turkey, asiago and minced jalepenos drizzled with a balsamic vinegar reduction. It's just missing something so I haven't even attempted anything since last Thanksgiving. Anyone have any ideas.
Different mushrooms? :D

Here's one to try before there are leftovers:

Cut out aluminum foil in desired shapes.

2. Arrange the turkey in the roasting pan, position the foil carefully. (see attached picture f
or details)

3. Roast according to your own recipe and serve.

4. Watch your guests' faces...

I'm sure the Jets Thanksgiving recipe calls for plenty of Roy Williams, lightly toasted or burned.

 I think everyone stopped listening to the idiot who wishes injury and death on our own team a long time ago ...

If he was really manic depressive, he'd stop taking any medication he is currently on (if any) and just end it all, preferably, in a gruesome manner. Then he wouldn't have all these problems.

Don't fall for the bait....

We successfully hijacked this thread, the morons tried to rehijack it back, zrin re-rehijacked, now you're letting them re-re-rehijack it.

Back to the leftovers......

One of my favorite non-turkey leftovers is taking some mashed potatos and mixing them with a little corn meal for consistency then frying them over a high heat Friday morning. Great side with an omelet.

Barbecued Turkey Sandwiches

"These moist shredded turkey sandwiches from Barbara Smith of Columbus, Ohio are a welcome break from beef barbecue or sloppy joes. The turkey cooks in a tangy sauce made with ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard."
INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter or stick margarine
  • 3 cups shredded cooked turkey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 6 Kaiser rolls, split
DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large nonstick skillet, sate onion in butter until tender. Add the turkey, water, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and paprika. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Serve on rolls.
Sounds good.
