I know I overreact and I'm not going to change
I'll allow myself to HOPE that you learned something here, about waiting until the facts are in before going to panic mode...
I checked the board before I left the house for work tonight, around 10 PM, and this story hadn't yet broken... but the time I was able to get back to the board here at work, 2 hours later, there were over 350 posts already, so I dutifully started slogging through them... and man, the first 5 or 6 pages were nothing but doom and gloom...
Had I been on the board when the story first broke, my first posts would have been along the lines of "oh, crap... sure hope it's not too serious... it would be bad news for the team if it was"...
Which covered most of the ground your posts did, without all the hysteria... if and when I learned that his collarbone WAS broken, then I would have reacted somewhat more negatively...
But you went straight off the deep end, without bothering to wait for the facts... and while I was messin' with you earlier in this thread, being semi-playful, I do have to say that you made yourself look pretty foolish...
But hey, if you're not "embarrassed" by that, if you don't mind making yourself look foolish, then God love you, I won't stand in your way... however, I do think it's curious behavior from a poster who has been respected enough to win the newbie of the year award... perhaps you should have taken Swabbie Bobby's most emotional poster award instead...
My last observation is if you're right that this team is doomed without Roy Williams, then it wasn't a good enough team to begin with to be considered a legitimate contender... any team that can't withstand one injury to a star player and still be successful is not a good team, period...
I say if we had to do without Roy, our passing game would be a bit less effective (obviously), but others could step up and fill in the void... Witten and Bennett would become more of a focus, and the running game would be more accentuated... but the offense would still be effective...
We'd be much worse off if we lost Romo or Witten, but even then, I think there's enough talent to field a semi-effective offense...
Others have noted in this thread the utter irony of how suddenly Roy, who has been roundly criticized this offseason in this very forum, is suddenly an irreplaceable part, vital to the success of the team... some of the same guys now bemoaning his possible loss were the ones trashing him a coupla months back...
I'm a UT fan, thus a Roy fan, but this offense has other weapons than him...
BTW, for the record, I'd like to make it clear that I kinda like you, so I'm not just tryin' to give you crap... I'm goofin' on you, while trying to point out the dangers of knee-jerk overreactions...
