Roy Philpott on NFLN Discussing Draft...

...yes, from the RR.

At #22 - Need a WR like Sweed, Jackson or Devin Thomas here.

At #28 - RB. Felix Jones or Chris Johnson would fit the bill.

Personally, I'd rather go after a CB than WR in the first round, but we'll see how the draft shakes out.

Also talked about Pacman going to the Cowboys for a #5 this year or next.

Wouldn't mind Johnson, but is Sweed expected to be a 1st round pick? Who is Devin Thomas?

who is this phillpot so many take the time to slam now? sounds like he's someone that bothered to stand up and say what's on his mind. nothing brings out the idiot calls than that.

people slam him because he makes garbage up and then attempts to charge for said garbage...he goes ballistic over people reposting supposed "premium" info for free elsewhere, yet the few accurate pieces of news he gets are exactly that too- info he found somewhere else

he's a turd

Don't see it.

Nor do I. Weird. Roy posted that link on the Dallas Scout page. I posted it here without first viewing the video. And I can't get the video to work either.

First, referring to Roy P. he noted 3 wrs that he would go after in 1st round.

On www.couchscout.com those wrs are the top 3 wrs on their wr board.

1 --HARDY James IND 6- 5.3...217...4.47 -------- 452.14
51r + 10 TD in 06, Also a Hoopster, 67r + 10 TDs in 05, RS-04, Suspended 2 games 09/13/2006 Tremendous WR
2 --SWEED Limas U of TEXAS 6- 4.4...216...4.46 -------- 443.83
RS-03, Steppin up Spr. 05, Wrist Inj 08/17/2007-Surgery 10/08/2007 agAIN 01/26/2008
3 --THOMAS Devin Michigan St 6- 1.9...217...4.40 -------- 440.07
Great Upside, 60+ in -07, 6 catches in 06, Blocks well. Trains Hard, Fine Return Man
4 --JACKSON DeSean CAL-BERKLEY 5- 9.6...169...4.31 -------- 432.83
Terrific Athlete, DB or WR, awesome punt Returner, Teddy Ginn Clone

So, Roy P. does know talent and he does talk to cowboys, staff and other media personnel.

As far as WR, I would go after 17 --JACKSON Dexter , Appalachain St 5- 9.2...185...4.37 -------- 393.81
Nice Punt Returner, Can't teach 4.27, character player, could be a steal

He is a nice little slot wr, aka 83 WELKER Wes. 5- 8.2 191 4.55 731.65

Now, im not saying not to take a wr in 1st or 2nd round, our top needs are CB, RB and WR, but take a wr in top 2 rounds, and take a flyer on young dexter jackson in 5th to 6th round.

Devin Thomas is a young promising wr that most scouts know about, and he blew them away at the combine. He is kinda like a young T O, at
THOMAS Devin Michigan St 6- 1.9...217...4.40 -------- 440.07
Great Upside, 60+ in -07, 6 catches in 06, Blocks well. Trains Hard, Fine Return Man, just keep your eyes on this kid, he has the size, etc to be real good and a steal in late first round or early 2nd round.

Either that, or he knows how to read.

i'd have to agree. we've got TO for another year, maybe 2. crayton is "ok" as a #2 but we do need a #2 if glenn is really done. hurd and stanback and still good - but otherwise we do lack a speed #2. esp if hos has esp and stanback becomes a wow rb. : )

i think we can pick up a WR later or in FA or even the roy williams deal may not be dead - all possible. but i view CB and RB as bigger needs to fill than WR at this point.

all that said, if at your pick the best player is a WR, take him and move on.

i'm all for drafting BPA, but i base my BPA on our needs, not just BPA period.

Jerry Jones doesn't

I agree. CB is the most important position we need to draft for. Of course, sometimes you have no choice but to take a different position. I would rather draft say Malcolm Kelly over say Aqib Talib whom I would convert to safety anyhow.

Pacman for a #5 is a good deal to me. Personally. I don't think thats going to happen though unless in agrees dump his current contract. Otherwise, it's more likely he goes elsewhere or is just straight up cut by the Titans and the Cowboys can sign him then.

Aqib Talib he is not getting converted to a safety he is a cb

I would give a #5 for PM right now and never look back.

That's why I think it's important to do this as quickly as we can.

Get it done and make the draft pick conditional on his being released from his suspension, too.

If we give it to them now and he gets released before the draft..it's this years.

If not, it's next years.

If he stays on suspension for another 6 months, then it's a 2010 pic.

If he never gets off suspension because something happens..they don't get it.

He's worth pursuing.

Between the end of the season and now, Jerry has stated how important our OL was to the 2007 season. Then he went out and signed Flo. During that same time he said how we were hobbled by the TO injury(Jerry said he was not making excuses mind you;) ). My guess is he wants some speed at WR, if one wants to read between the "Jerry lines". Probably gonna come between #22 and #61.
