As much as everybody rips on Roy, I want to put some stats into respective. With Miles Austin and Witten on the team, Roy is really the third option as he should be. Also, he plays in a balanced offense that runs the ball quite often. So lets compare RW11's stats vs other teams' number 3rd targets.

RW11: 38 Rec. 596 yrds. 7 TD's

Steve Breaston: 55 Rec. 712 yrds. 3 TD's

Bernard Berrian: 55 Rec. 618 yrds. 4 TD's

Micheal Jenkins: 50 Rec. 635 yrds. 1 TD

Austin Collie: 60 Rec. 676 yrds. 7 TD's

Jason Avant: 41 Rec. 587 yrds. 3 TD's

Laveranues Coles: 43 Rec. 514 yrds. 5 TD's

So Roy's stats compare well to the 3rd target on other teams. Yes, he isn't being paid like a number 3 receiver but at the same time, Miles isn't being paid to be the number 1 receiver.

Miles WILL BE paid like the #1 WR shortly. Roy wasn't acquired to be the #3 option.

Roy was acquired to be the number 1 yes, but who knew Miles would be this good. Not even JJ knew, otherwise he wouldnt have traded for Roy

The biggest thing I notice is that he gets more yards per catch than most and he has a lot of TDs compared ot the third options. I kinda think that Miles/RW/Ogletree is probably the best set. Run KO out of the slot, just switch Miles and Roy Williams.

He was paid to perform like a #1 and nothing less, if he's meant to be a 3rd option they better renegotiate his contract ASAP....

He can be a #1 if he wills this offseason

I think he will be the 3rd option going into next year but thats not saying he cant regain the number 2 option at least.

to be fair within the same line of thinking towards Witten being the 2 here......most of these guys are not really the 3rds on their teams they are the 4th...they have very good TEs who are getting the looks before them just like RW is

Jenkins is the number 2 receiver in ATL and Berrian was the starter most of the year for Minny though. I agree, however, with Collie and Avant but neither of those teams run the ball at all.

It's not my money being paid to him, and so long as he wears the star I will be a fan of his.

how many number one receivers had less TD catches than him?

Holmes - 5
Welker - 4
Steve Smith NYG - 7
Greg Jennings - 4
Derrick Mason - 7
Calvin Johnson - 5
Steve Smith Car- 7
S. Moss - 3
T.O. - 5
Sims-Walker - 7

so our number 3 WR who can't play tied for the league lead in receiving touchdowns?

Am I reading that wrong? I must be, cause Roy doesn't produce.

Unless you're me, it's not your job to worry about whether it matters to me.

It matters, because that money could be going to someone more productive.

ahh ok.

just to ask it, who is the number two in cincy? I thought coles was, not nitpicking I just can't think of the other guy.

Andre Caldwell was the WR who was getting more and more targets by the end of the year. Nice prospect.

Roy's the 4th here as well. Crayton had more yards than him.

Those aren't the league leaders in TDs. The OP just showed those guys so we could see who Roy was equal to or right there with in TDs

Miles Austin had 11.
