Taps-n-1, Let me give you some advise. Pick your words carefully when addressing Mr. AdamJT13. I have been reading Mr. AdamJT13 posts since I believe 2002 on another board and here. Not once has he been wrong on a point of fact regarding the NFL or the Dallas Cowboys. He very rarely injects personal opinion. I have yet to seem him loose a major debate when being challenged.

Then again this is just my opinion. Good luck and happy posting.

John

Thanks for the "advise" John. But in the words of your leader, "WRONG".

AdamJT13 is probably the most respected guy on this board when it comes to info about the Cowboys.

I trust what he post more than anything I see by any of the Mediots.

If you are gonna try to get in a "pissing" match with him he is gonna beat you senseless with the facts.

And if you are gonna refer to those of us who take what he says as fact as sheep ....... then there is gonna be a LONG line that includes me, probably all the mods and long time posters on this board.

All that's great zrin. Not a pissing match, just my opinion. You read and believe who and what you want, but I've seen, salary figures, terms of contracts and rules supposedly posted directly from "the book", that were just out-dated, or just flat wrong. His dogged take on Larry Allen's contract of a few years ago, is just one example.

Again, I'm sure Adam's a really knowledgeable "fan", but the "I know better because ___" routine, for me personally, is really boring, and as this is a PUBLIC forum board, is well within my rights to post.

I've noticed that 50% of your posts start w/ "so-and-so needs to learn ___".

There's plenty of times that call is made, regardless of what the intent was, or who the blow was delivered to, or what the defender led with.

It, like probably 80% of calls, is subjective, (i.e. Owens' delay of game penalty). What "rule" are you gonna cite, if/when, the league comes down w/ a fine, huh Poindexter?

I'm sure your a real knowledgeable "fan" and all, but MAN, does your "I know better than that guy" act get old.

Any facts to back up your BS?:bang2:

Wikipedia:
1996 Major rule changes
In order to reduce injuries, hits with the helmet or to the head will be personal fouls and subject to fines.

Another site:
1996:
The five-yard contact rule will be enforced more stringently.

Hits with the helmet or to the head by the defender will be flagged as personal fouls and subject to fines. This is being done to protect the offense, particularly the quarterback.

Taps is right. He's well within his rights posting whatever puerile notions pop into his head. Good tactic, too: coming down on smart people for being smart. Preach it, brotha!

I was listening to Norm last night after the game and he explained the Horsecollar rule. He said that if you have your hand on the FRONT of a player at the same time you have your hand on the back, it can not be considered a horsecollar tackle. Since Roy obviously had his hand on the front (facemask penalty) then it could not have been a horsecollar.

One thing that Norm did say was that he was stunned that TNew didn't called for a helmet to helmet hit our of bounds on that play.

This is an interesting post, btw. I hope Roy avoids the fine for this altogether.

Actually, yea. But, honestly I don't think it matters what I'd say or post, or frankly what it would accomplish. You're going to believe what you want, regardless.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. It's a public forum board, and there's going to be ppl you disagree with or just flat dislike, that's part of it.

Anyone who relies on Wikipedia for thier info is suspect in my book.

Well if you could post anything official that shuts down what Adam said, then do it. I bet you a lot of money and chicken fingers that you can't. He knows his stuff. You, clearly, do not.

Regarding the horse collar, I thought a horse collar is the tackling player has his hand inside the neck area of the shoulder pad and pulls the ball carrier down and it isn't a horse collar if the player brings him down the same way but only grasps the shirt?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse-collar_tackle

I swear I heard at some point it wasn't called unless the tacklers hand was inside the collar of the ballcarriers shirt.

Ok, I guess not....

• All players are prohibited from grabbing the inside collar of the back of the shoulder pads or jersey, or the inside collar of the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, and immediately pulling down the runner. This does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket. Previously, the “horse-collar” tackle rule did not include the back of the shoulder pads or

You can grab that inside of the collar and bring a ball carrier down. It's a "Horse Collar" infraction when the defender goes to the ground and uses his body weight to "Immediately" bring the ball carrier down.

Please, people, learn the difference.

Roy Williams. Damned if he do, damned if he don't. After the Bears game all i heard was how Roy should make the tackle and stop trying to "man up and hit him". Now he actually makes the tackle and he gets criticized for it.

Tell Marshawn Lynch to man up and not run out of bounds next time Roy is going after him. But im sure nobody noticed that. Nor did anyone notice that Roy was the first person that Lynch congratulated after the game. But who cares about that.

Hey Roy, Cowboy fans question your toughness but the players you play against dont. Do you care?:D

Well, thanks for being such a beacon to all of us "sheep."'

Let me also get this straight. You are pointing out how you don't like how a respected poster handles his business and then start start insulting others and telling everyone how smart you are.

D-bag alert.

That was BS from Roy. He can seriously hurt someone like that. I'd really like to see him blow someone up by tackling with better technique.

What I don't get is that he won't stop doing it. Seems stupid, stubborn, and selfish.

Oh, you mean you weren't alluding to how smart you are when you called everyone "sheep" and told us all about your knowledge of contracts, salary cap, etc. I guess I misinterpreted.

You have to be real clear to us sheep.

Then prove him wrong on ANYTHING he's said. You can't do it, I know you can't. But you think you can, so do it. Please. Lead me, master, lead me.
