Roy Williams hits

I know he fell off a ton, but it annoys me so much that he is often forgotten.

I'll see online discourse discussing the biggest hitters in NFL history, and he'll get left off.

Yet Sean Taylor's name will pop-up here and there.
Sean Taylor lit up a punter in a Pro Bowl game so he gets my respect for that but yeah, it's mostly because he passed away.

You think the horse collar tackle he was known for should have stayed?
They call it arbitrarily anyway so its a moot point... or mute point for those in Rio Linda.

I hate to say that because nobody here defends nfl referees or little people more than I do.

That BOOM video that a guy made years ago after his rookie season was amazing, wish i had it.

edit: I found it but its poor quality and they changed the music.

It's not in the video, but I remember one game against the Lions where the camera was focused on their QB who dropped back to pass and all of the sudden the RB came flying backwards into the screen. He had picked up Roy Williams on a pass blitz and got lit up.

The most overrated player in history.

Names get elevated over time. Stories become Tall Tales.

Heck a couple of days ago, I saw a thread somewhere talking about the toughest runners in NFL history. Brandon Jacobs' name was thrown around a lot, probably because he was huge and that's easy to look-up online.

I'm pretty sure Murray and Zeke were more punishing backs, and it's not like they were overly physical.

Zeke was.

Williams was terrible after the rookie year. Downright sucked his last couple seasons
he broke his arm twice in his last season with Dallas.

Broke it again the next season with the Bengals.

Then the knee sprain in his final season.

Before the injuries, he would knock them out. 8)

He was a liability out there. Couldn't cover and was picked on all the time. All he could do was try to light people up and failed at that late. He was extremely overrated.

He and Woodson was a great duo. Even Woody in his older age was still crushing guys.
Damn shame he went out due to an herniated disc.
I saw an interview where Woodson said that Roy was the best football player he ever played with. The interviewer exclaimed, best player? And Woodson doubled down. He said he had no idea what happened to him.
