Roy Williams Lost The Game

this thread IS WAY OFF BASE. Terrance Newman got fooled out his pants. He is the best cover guy on the team and is paid quite well to cover. Newman is the last guy we should have to help. If Roy has to help Newman this team has ZERO CHANCE!

The common problem here is lack of concentration. If we can fix that (and I have no freaking idea how you fix that on a football team) we will solve a lot of our oddball problems and the offensive/defensive ranks will justify our record for once.

nailed it bro. good points by all

Well Roy Williams did not drop an easy TD pass.
He dropped a game sealing interception that hit him in the hands.

I'm still steaming even this morning over this loss and the lack of composure this team has.

Roy Williams lost this game because he is not that smart. I thought the greatness of Bill, liked smart people, Well Bill, all I saw out there was a big bag of ding-dongs thinking they would be a hero and put the big hit on, be on "Jacked-Up" replays, but forgot something important.

Hey Roy, he didn't have the football yet, dip"!!!!!!!! Look first. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

god this team pisses me off.
So it wasn't whoever blocks on the right side of the FG unit? Or TO dropping a sure TD? Or Keith Davis flying in out of control and right past Portis on his 38 yd run? Or Henry who lets an interception go right off his hands and into Cooley for the TD? I'm sure if you try, everybody on the team did something to add to the loss. In my opinion, Vanderjagt and TO have screwed up the chemistry on this team. I'd take last years team with Romo at QB instead anyday.

Gentleman, we have the 5th best offense in the NFL and the 4th best defense....how in the #$%^&^%$%^&%$ are we 4-4?

Because we don't make the big plays at the right times.

I agree he clearly made mistakes that hurt us in this game

It's simple with Roy

Roy within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage = Pro Bowl Safety

Roy out in pass coverage = below average safety

it's simple with you too

howaboutthemcowboys within 5 yards of the l.os. = dead

howaboutthemcowboys out in pass coverage = game stopped due to heart attack

Yep. Too many times one guy will screw up the whole play.

Aaron Glenn let the running back slip by him to convert a third down. All he had to do was run into the back at the line of scrimmage, but he did nothing.

Andre Gurode pulls on the Terry Glenn revers and engages the defender. Instead of staying with him, he decides to try and go down field. If he holds that block, Glenn runs for 20 yards and Dallas is in good position to get some points.

Go through each play on both sides of the ball and you will find at least 1 guy who doesn't get the job done and in the end it adds up to a loss. Not just the big things, but the little things. It doesn't look like a lack of talent as much as a lack of discipline and focus.

Correct me if im wrong but wasnt Roy Williams the one who made 2 or 3 tackles or tripped up Portis early in the game on that goaline stand? Yes he was....

Didnt he make that stop in the backfield late in the game on 3rd and 2 for a loss of a couple yards to make it a 49 yard field goal attempt? Yes he did...

Made alot of big tackles in the game.

Id love to see everyone who critcizes Roy, playing safety in the NFL. Now that would be FUNNY.

He just sucks in two-deep zone. Roy needs to be in the mix; when he's all the way back out of the play it's often like we're playing with just ten defenders.

I was at that hideous game and it hurt to see Roy standing back there looking bored. Two-deep zone just isn't his game.

I agree with you. And it also shows that our coaches are stupid, when they can't even see that on film the following week.

Folks, we've got some serious coaching issue, and Bill better fix it. So far, I'm not impressed

Yeah, playing the two deep has really killed him this year... All he is doing in the two deep is leading all safeties is plays made...

So far this year Roy Williams has 3 INT's, 2 FF's, and 9 Passes Defensed....

That is tied for 2nd among safeties for INT's and Tied for first among safties for Passes Defensed... Just image what he could do if he was actually GOOD at what he did......:bang2:

TwoSteppinJJ,

You're drinking to much Jim Beam. Can't you see. We are hating today. :p:

What are they supposed to do? Sometimes the safeties have to play deep. It is in their job description. Should they replace him with someone who is worse? There are several things that could make this team better. One is Roy stepping up his game, but he is not alone.

We all know that Roy constantly gives up big plays in coverage.

The worst thing about it is that he never takes responsibility for it - everytime he gets beat he blames someone else - he yells at the ref for getting in his way, complains to he ref for a flag or yells at a teammate, blaming them instead.

That loser attitude spreads to the rest of the team. If the "leader" of the defense isn't being held accountable for his inteptitude, why would anyone else? So they play like they have this year.

Say what you will about T.O., but he stands up and admits when he screws up. Something you'll never see from #31.

He should give his paycheck to Tony Romo for losing the game for him.

I think the fact that we try and play our safeties as interchangable is not the best use of there talents but I do agree with you Josee. Yesterdays game can be reviewed and when it's all said and done, there are any number of places you can look to and objectively say that had we played a bit better, we could have come out on the winning end. That is a very valid point IMO.

You need to lay off the crack. It just amazes me what a loss does to this board. Now all of a sudden TO is a stand-up guy, and Roy is a excuse making fool. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Roy Williams lost it.
Anthony Henry lost it.
Mike Vandergjagt did.
No, Columbo did.
Fasano and Witten did too.
TO lost the game.
The coaches did. Parcells and Zimmer.
The safeties lost it.

Doesn't everyone realize how much blame there is to go around? Simply people always try to find ONE thing to blame. The truth is, the Dallas Cowboys lost, and no one player did that to them.

Except that we saw it last year ... when it WASN'T his fault.
