Rucker cut

John Phillips has earned the right to be our number two TE even when Bennett comes back. For that reason, I would much rather have seen us ship out Bennett than Rucker.

....ship out BENNETT over RUCKER....get off the cough syrup. The more relevant question is how the heck are Choice and Buehler still on the team?

Really? When did he do that?

Well I'm still a #Cowboy! back on the prac squad for now. I've got the best twit/facebook fam out there!! Thanks for all yer support!

So wait, he wasn't claimed by the Patriots, Saints, Eagles, Steelers, or 1993 Dallas Cowboys?

There must be something in the new CBA that kept it from happening.

Rucker cost Dallas 4th round pick Josh Thomas on the Final Cutdown, yet more genuis from our Front Office.

We need to stop thinking in #1, #2, #3 terms etc., and instead think about situations and packages. In a 2 TE set you need the second TE to be able to block on running downs. In that case Bennett is the better option. But if you want to split one TE wide in a 2 TE set as a receiver then Phillips is your guy.

Seeing that Dallas is weak at running the ball, Bennett brings some ability ot the offense as a run blocker that Phillips can't.

Now don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to hate on Phillips and rosey-coat Benett. In fact I love Phillips way better than Benett. Bennett actually annoys me, but we can't deny the fact that he brings a run blocking elemtn to the offense that is lacking and needed.

Thomas was a 5th rounder, and what makes you so sure he was going to a player worth keeping?

Well I appreciate what Bennett brings. And theres a notable difference between what Phillips brings and what Bennett brings in terms of blocking. I wish they'd actually ask bennett to block first count a beat or two and release as a safety valve more often.

True. Butler outplayed him in camp and he is #5 for Carolina behind another waiver P/U.

Oh, that's easy-- if we let them get away, they're clearly bound for greatness...
