Rumor: Adrian Peterson for Andre Ellington in the works

Dang, would have loved to see AP run behind our line, but we'll ok. I'm now thinking Murray will be back due to process of elimination and besides his upside from last year. Hope we'll pick a 3rd or 4th round RB to keep Murray rested.

AP prefers AZ where his Cap hit is 15.4 - Arizona is clearing space per Yahoo sports.

Peterson's salary and cap hit for ARI would be 13m. MINN would eat 2.4m in dead money

Peterson would still be owed 3/43m by ARI.

I don't see it happening

Also...bye bye Justin Forsett

Given all the factors in total, this isn't the worst deal for Minny. AP didn't want to be there, they really didn't want him there, Forsett wanted to get paid, and Minn could really use cap space and extra draft pick to keep getting better.

They made some good strides last season. Valdheer was very solid at LT, Sendlein was solid at Center and Massie was okay. Only 28 sacks last season was a big improvement on 2013. If they hit on O-line in the first round then they have the pieces in place to do some serious damage.

I was stunned that the Raiders were dumb enough to let Veldheer go.

That is based off these tweets by Rand Getlin where he says one source claims Arizona is clearing space to make a run at Peterson. But another team source says that he is not in their plans. Nowhere does it say the Vikings are doing the swap for Ellington.

We'll let the title and thread stand for now.

Posted on page 1.

I know but Biff doesn't seem to get that those are the only info on the story and that Getlin admits he's hearing the opposite also. And again Ellington is not mentioned in a trade. And the guy listed (CharlesRobinson) as saying the Cardinals are Peterson's top team admits that would change if the Cowboys lose Murray.

Lol, we already have 2 "3rd or 4th rd RBs"

This makes absolutely no sense.

Why the hell give up a draft pick for Peterson when you can just wait until June 1st to get him on the market? Sure, there will be someone else out there that wants him, but that's a chance you should take. Plus, they already have Ellington, so I think they can wait.

Some of the things teams and players do in this league make very little sense to me.

Say what? Isn't Forsett a Raven?

Lol...oops

I totally mixed him up....no idea why, but McKinnon is the one leaving Minn...and had nowhere near the year that Forsett had.
Forsett might be leaving the Ravens.

My bad

Oh that makes since. haha

I don't think there is any chance the Forsett isn't a Raven next season.

The only thing that doesn't make sense, is the belief that the Vikings would gift wrap Peterson for us.

So to answer your question, Arizona is open to the idea of trading for Peterson because on the open market, the have to compete with several teams and he likely prefers Dallas. And outside of you wanting him in Dallas, why should thy take that chance?
