I will venture a guess at 6 years 30 mill with 12 in bonuses :laugh2:

The Commanders are at it again, and this makes the second defensive signing. Defensive end/outside linebacker Andre Carter is schedule to fly to Washington and sign his brand new six-year, approximately $30 million contract.

They were barely under cap and now all these huge bonuses and signings? Does not add up.
abersonc said:actually it does add up -- they have to give huge bonuses and massive back ends on the deal to make it add up. the bigger the bonus the more money is shoved to the last few years. it allows a smaller cap hit now but real trouble when you get past year 3ish.

clayman said:correct and with 4 or 5 mil dollar salaries in the latter years if they cut them after 3 or 4 they just get hit with the remaining of the signing bonus that is already paid out...not a bad way of doing business for mid 20s guys that you would probably release or restructure with paycuts after they past 30 and the sexy big total number gets them to sign along with a nice up front bonus. As we should know, don't count on cap hell for them as they seem to know contracts better than Johnnie Cochran.
