Rumor: Cowboys interested in LaVar Arrington ***MERGED***

No thanks. Let's get some of our own guys wrapped up (i.e. Whitten, R. Williams, B. James). Arrington just doesn't seem like a fit here in Dallas. I know that L.T. used to improvise on plays and he shanged the game a bit from hi s position, but Arrington seems to free-lance a bit too much for a 3-4 defensive scheme. Not, only that, but he has said that he doesn't want to play in Dallas. We should move quickly away from this one.

SS

Plus reports here in DC are that he wants about 6-million a year and 10 million to sign...

Lavar himself said he wouldn't dawn a Cowboys uniform so with that being said, I HIGHLY doubt he'll be playing for Dallas ANYTIME SOON!!!!

"Can you believe we are coaching the Dallas-xxxxing-Cowboys?"

in other words... never say never.

Good Gawd, you're a regular groupie, aren't you??

Bet ya Danny Boy found it "disrespectful" to the team when Arrington was runnin' around tellin' everybody that the Skins had stiffed him on a 6.5 million dollar bonus... maybe you didn't, but like I said, you apparently dream of gettin' warm and fuzzy with ol' Lavar, so perhaps we shouldn't take you seriously...

And if, in the fullness of time, we see a movie titled "Brokeback Skins Fan", we won't have to wonder who the inspiration was for it... :lmao:
you do realize his agent was suspended by the league for the mistake, it wasn't the Commanders' fault

and you want to mention one example of where LaVar embarrassed the franchise?

Arrington just strikes me as not being very bright.

Maybe I'm wrong.

It seems that Gregg Williams couldn't do much with him.

Oh, his agent removed the $6.5 mil bonus? I though for sure the Commanders did it.

Thanks for clearing that up.

How about keeping the team embroiled in a legal battle for the better part of two years for an omission that, in your words, "wasn't the Commanders' fault."

Isn't it disrespectful that he accused the team of cheating him and backed his words up by pursuing through judicial channels? In essence, he called the Washington FO a bunch of swindlers, after all.

Hey if the Skins were willing to give Tyson Walter a whirl, I'm willing to give Arrington a whirl.

I'll just consider a 1 for 1 trade. Which wouldnt be too bad cuz I wouldnt trade you a Gatorade bucket for Walter otherwise.

;)

Greg Williams isn't Parcells and neither is he the Head Coach...

ya think?

He's an idiot in the mold of Clinton Portis.

How these guys make it through college is beyond me. I bet half of them cant read on 2nd grade level.

Saladin, to be fair, all I did in this ordeal was simply watch the television. :)

And, not that I think he's coming here, but he left it open ended when he said he didn't want to come here...he said something to the effect of, 'but ya never know.' Money talks with this guy.

To me, if true, then JJ himself is further disrespecting the star. He would sell his soul, for another shot at a SB. I wish he could understand that we can win a SB without selling his soul and collecting people who don't want to be here and who don't like the Cowboys but would go to Siberia if the money is right. Some peopl act like you can only win a SB with talented headcases, thugs, etc. since people keep saying that they don't care what type of people are brought in as long as we win. There are good character people who would love to play for the Cowboys WHO ALSO ARE TALENTED.

Sorry Gfunk, but that's a half truth. Yes, he was suspended because he didn't exercise proper care. What was the proper care he failed to exercise? That a clause agreed to was in fact in the finalized for signing contract. Both sides erred, not just the Postons.

If the Commanders negotiated that clause in good faith and failed to put it in the contract whether on purpose or by accident, that is poor on their part. It looks bad from the outside.
