rumor-eli manning done for season

I saw Manning fall to the ground after that late-game pass on Turkey Day... the foot definitely IS bothering him during games. 'Nuff said.
I could see a scenario where he may start the game but if it becomes a problem or if we get up say 14-0, 17-0 then he will probably come out of the game.

I don't believe this is going to happen - Eli will play against us and then decide if he wants to take the rest of the year off. If they win, he probably continues to play. If they lose, he'll sit out the rest of the year.

Agreed. It seems odd to sit him now, unless he's risking permanent damage or something.

Even if he will sit, we won't know till Saturday night or something. They want us to gameplan for Manning.

I agree - Carr had talent but was just wrecked by that OL in Houston and needed a chance to sit and learn and heal. We should have brought him in to backup Romo when he was available.

Besides, I seem to remember him dismantling us in the Texans first ever game.

I'll be the first to admit that while I'd 'rather' face Carr than Manning, I by no means will be jumping around at the prospect of facing David Carr. He may well suck -- even on that team -- but it can be hard playing a QB you haven't game planned for. Unless New York was to trade for JaMarcus Russell tomorrow. I wouldn't fear much then. :)

And Dallas should be gameplanning for him.

I've never understood the whole conspiracy about teams trying to get some advantage in saying a star player might not play. It just doesn't make sense. If you gameplan for Manning and he plays, you're ready. If you gameplan for him and he sits, you only have to worry about a backup.

Its not like any team would take what is said at face value and gameplan for the backup, only to be caught off guard on Sunday.

Agreed. I can't fathom New York puts David Carr out there as long as they have a pulse
Carr beat us his very first NFL game. If he plays and we take him lightly, we WILL lose on Sunday...

I hope manning plays and the D-line knocks him around pretty hard for him autographing the lockerroom. Then he can sit out the rest of the year.:whip:

i hope he plays this week. even though theyve looked less then stellar for weeks now i will just here excuses from giants fan

i want us to end their season as well as eli's next week.

My guess right now is that it is more of a pain issue than an instability issue. If the issue were instability they already would have yanked him and put him in an aircast boot and pondered surgery.

No we won't.

I call total BS on this.

No way in hell Manning is going to sit out a game against Dallas when 1 more loss ends their season. Now if we get a comfortable lead or if Manning is really getting hit alot, then I could see him getting pulled.

As far as David Carr goes, he is not that big of a scrub that others are saying. He can beat us if we are not ready.

Ditto.

We really have to pressure this guy early on. As long as he doesn't get comfortable, we should keep their offense in check.

Our offense just has to be solid. Protect Romo, no stupid penalties or turnovers.

This is one of those "Just don't do anything stupid" games. The other team is desperate and struggling, make THEM force plays and make the mistakes. I'll take a repeat of last year's huge December win over the Giants (without Romo getting beat up again).

More of Coughlin's made up bull****.

The guy is a solid coach but he pulls stuff out of his behind to motivate his team. See 2007's playoff game.

While this does give us a huge advantage on Sunday, it also kinda sucks.

I friend of mine who's a Giants fan told me last season that beating us with Brad at QB didn't really feel as good as beating us normally does for him.

I kinda see where he's coming from, i want to beat the Giants, not some patch work team in Giants uniforms

There's no way we can get proper payback for week 2 this year if half their team ain't playing :(

Ellen will play, don't worry, gomer smirk and all. As far as QB injuries are concerned, Romo is also not near 100%, his accuracy has been terrible at times recently, due in large measure to his lower back stiffness.

I prefer Elmer Fudd over Carr. Let him start.

He has had success against us in the past but he is not a destroyer of Cowboys.

I want to.................... take him OUT!

dude.....his passes have been off way before he took that knee to the back

Dude, he's been even worse (at times) since, it's not a non-factor. Oh and Eli is playing.
