The more time I waste thinking about this, the more sense it makes.

If SD did trade LT, it would open up the door to retaining Turner. You know they have to hate the idea of losing him after this year for nothing.

On one hand, I would like the idea of getting LT in his prime, however, I am still stung by the two 1st rounders we gave up for Galloway and him blowing out his knee in the 1st game. We have a great offense and I don't think we need to fix what isn't broken. We need another shut down corner with Clevelands pick or maybe a big time WR, or a left tackle to replace the penalty machine, we just don't need a running back. Heck, we may beat Minnys all time scoring record without a HOF running back!

UPDATE:

AP News Service, Washington DC office:

With rumors flying about star Running Back LT demaing a trade, Commander owner Dan "Platform Shoe" Synder has joined the frey. Inside reports have Synder's private plan, Redstink One, on the way to the West Coast for a surprise press announcement.

Our source close to the LT camp are saying that the offer is far over any such deal in NFL history. Remember that the savy DC owner last made a strong move at the RB position by trading the league's best (and future HOFer) corner back, Balley and a second round pick for the solid but sometimes cross-dressing Ms. Portis.

The unconfirmed deal is said to include the following:

SD Gives: L.T.

DC Gives: RB Portis, the next three 1st round picks(2008,9 &10), $500,000 in Johnny Rocket combo meals, two years free admission to any 6 Flags Theme Park for the entire SD organization, 2008 3rd round pick, A Joe Gibbs Racing Limited Edition Toyoda Camary and DC's 7th round picks for the next 25 years.

The deal also includes a new contract for LT but we are still tracking that story...stay turned.

Chargers and Turner/LT are in free fall, what a terrible hire.

I cringe that we even interviewed him then and moreso now.

Not that it would Ever happen, but i would definately give up the browns 1st round pick that we have, JJ, and i would throw in a 2nd round pick as well. But, it wont happen. I just thought i would dream for a second

This is a quesiton for everyone....

Would you take a 28-year old LT over the possibility of having a guy like McFadden?

We have MB3.

End of discussion and Chargers are not going to deal him anyhow.

Wow-this was one WILD ride-go to 680thefan.com-there's NO such info on there that LT even did an interview with them.

On the Chargers' forum, it was all but proven that that thread starter was nothing more than an 18 year old hs fool who had nothing to do.

Trading for a back with miles is never a great decision.

Silly talk. He isn't going anywhere.

If we find out he really said it though, it wouldn't surprise me since he says a lot of things that are childish and show a thin skin.

I recall he made a big issue in college when Franchione, (who had just accepted the Bama job), showed up at the Heisman award show with a crimson colored tie. LT made a big deal of how disrespectful it was, blah, blah, blah. He's a great player but he needs to grow up and act like a professional.

gotta admit that even though i knew this was BS that still it would have been one of the most interesting sports stories ever if he had actually demanded a trade especially after the type of year he had last year...

We witnessed the same thing when Norv was in Wash-in-game management skills poor, players look unmotivated, lack of discipline, players and coaches fighting on the sidelines, making key mistakes many many times in crucial parts of the game, players trash talking the other team, etc, etc.

Remember that '00 Mon Nighter at FedEx? Our D-Line was nothing more than JV, but the Skins were calling some 48 pass plays-amazing.

LT is a class guy and this sounded like nonsense.

He did get into a shouting match with Rivers on the sideline but I doubt he'd demand a trade.

If he did tho... oh my. He is a Texas boy and I'd be willing to fore go my distaste for paying or spending high picks on RBs. This guy is the only current 'Emmitt Smith rule'.

And I'd much rather 28 year old LT than McFadden who hasn't done jack squat in the NFL. I have seen 100 great college RBs including Reggie Bush, Ricky Williams, Ron Dayne et al. None of those guys are LT.
