I wouldn't mind him being our coach if Wade fails. Though I pray that doesn't happen. But I don't think he will succeed under "them".

The Skins are cursed and Vince Lombardi couldn't save them.

hey - if jones is a coach killer, snyder rapes and pillages them when he's done killing them. it's yet to matter who the coach is, don't see why it would now.

UGH could you imagine if Ware/Ratliff/Spencer got hurt due to being cut blocked?

gawd I hope your right

1999: 6-10 (no playoffs)
2000: 11-5 (lost in first round of playoffs)
2001: 8-8 (no playoffs)
2002: 9-7 (no playoffs)
2003: 10-6 (lost in first round of playoffs)
2004: 10-6 (lost in first round of playoffs)
2005: 13-3 (1-1 in playoffs)
2006: 9-7 (no playoffs)
2007: 7-9 (no playoffs)
2008: 8-8 (no playoffs)

In those final 10 seasons, Shanhan won the AFC West just one time and missed the playoffs 60 percent of the time, including the last three in a row. He compiled a 1-4 record in the playoff and never made the Super Bowl. This is vitally important because odds are overwhelming that the re-tread coach will not recapture past glory.

I would rather have Gruden over Shanahan any day of the week, although Shanny is an NI alumni as Romo.

That's always my fear with retread coaches as well -- especially this one, whose success is rather pedestrian outside of those few seasons with Elway.

You get a huge name and a sexy, splashy hire ... but what are you really getting?

Not a thing IMO - at least outta this group of retreads

I rather take my chances with Garrett

From a Commanders perspective (not that you care but I'll add my 2 cents) a competent coach and proven winner.

Look up his QBs under his coaching and look at their stats without him.

The offense will have a smart coach, good game planner and someone disciplined.

Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes on D

That would be my concern. Just because he did it in Denver does not mean he will do it in Dallas.

Joe Gibbs did not have the success in second time as his first.

If we go very far in the playoffs, I don't see Jerry firing Wade.

I hope it is true so the speculation about Shanahan coming to Dallas will die! Im tired of hearing about this coach and that coach as possible replacements for Wade! Especially when we are in the playoffs, have a chance to win the east, and are playing top notch ball right now.

Look at Belicheat's record with and without Brady

Just saying, you never know what happens in different circumstances.

Hell retreads seem to be the only ones winning Superbowls. My head may explode if its a Wade vs Norv Superbowl this year

A decent coach who hasn't won a playoff game in a decade.

It had to be said.

Yeah, they did great with Marty Schottenheimer and Joe Gibbs. :laugh2:

Who won a single divisional title once Elway retired.

Needed to be said too.

RainMan;3183374 said:
Has he won one? If he has, I stand corrected. Thought I heard a stat that he hasn't won a playoff game in forever.

Either way, his teams have swooned in December and haven't had much playoff success of late, no?

All the reason I haven't wanted him to come here. Talk about a marriage from hell, considering our recent past mirrors it.

Cajuncowboy;3183381 said:
Well if that is true, the Monday Shanny goes on my hate list. Right now he's on my I wish he was here list.

I'm fickle that way.

:suxskins: And may they forever stay that way!

Again, there is never a gurantee of success. But you can ensure competence and positioning yourself for success if you get the right breaks

Shanahan and Allen can do that. Zorn and Cerrato cannot.

Think of Spurrier and Zorn as Dan's Chan and Campo era :)

So in 2012 when the world ends right? LOL keep dreaming SkinsHokieFan. I'm sure by then Mike will want out of that clown house that your owner has been running for 10 years now. Good luck. Norv, Steve, Marty, Joe, and Jim say hello Mike! Oh and the Hokies aren't that great either. Win a real National Championship first.
