if this rumor is true jerry better not let moss leave vr

Yea, if he leaves he is not coming back. We better wine him and dine him and offer him a blowout contract.

I have no idea how Jerry and Stephen are creating all this cap room, I guess the salary cap is pretty much a joke now with all these accounting gimmiks and reworked deals.

We better have talked to TO about this and made sure he is ok with it, last thing we need is TO going off the reservation because we pay Moss more money.

I'd be absolutely shocked if Moss wound up here, honestly. I simply will not believe this at all till it happens.

Not like I believe this is gonna happen, but exactly what do we have to make sure with T.O.?? He doesn't run this team. He's not a coach, he's not a GM, he's not an owner. This is Jerry's business. I didn't see Parcells doing jumping jacks when Jerry brought Owens himself here. If Owens couldnt grow his *** up and realize this is the closet he'll ever get to a title, that's his fault.

rofl. Are you serious? Welker is effective because of Moss. Granted, if you could get another speedy receiver to stretch the field, that would help, but Welker is not a #1.
It's not important what my opinion of Moss' overall importance within the Patriots' offense truly is. It's Robert Kraft's and Scott Pioli's. If they have the means to resign Moss and they don't..?

I never thought I would ever see Owens in a Cowboys' uniform and this will be his third year wearing one. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Mike Adams, WEEI 850 is reporting that Moss will fly in to Valley Ranch on Tues to talk to Jerry and Stephen Jones. He is also reporting that Moss might fly to Philly on Thursday as well. Green Bay is not an option at this time.

Its believed that Moss will listen to what both team has to offer and then go back to the Patriots to see what they do.

Who is Mike Adams and WEEI 850? I never heard of either one.

Is any of this actually legit? Has anybody been able to verify this with another source, or is this guy the only one with the "scoop"?

I just have a hard time believing Moss is going to sign with us when he wants $8-$10 a year and we can barely keep the lights buring at VR.

Stephen Jones must be a freaking "salary cap witch doctor" to make $10 mill magically appear.

Is there a chance they could sign Moss and Cut Owens?

Not that I think this would happen, but Owens' contract is pretty much 3, 1 year deals.

If the cowboys cut him, they would save a TON this year.

Just throwing it out there. I would rather see both and I'm not sure which I would prefer over the other. Probably owens because he is here and he and Romo play well together.

TO and Romo already have it. Why mess with that?

WEEI 850 is a sports radio station in Boston. I have seen multiple reports that Moss in only considering 3 teams, NE, Dallas, or Philly. To be honest I only believe that Randy is using Dallas and Philly to set what New England will pay.

New England wants Moss to go and get the best deal he can get with the knowlege of the Patriots matching the best offer. Moss thinks he can get 10 mil a year and the Patriots don't.

Moss has a good thing going in NE. He will end up there.

But...saying that. I still think if you can get Moss to VR then Dallas has a small chance of stealing him away. I really don't think Moss wants to go to Philly. I think he's keeping them in the picture because Philly can offer the most money.

My initial info came from another website. That's why I lead with "RUMOR" in my title. But I just got a reply from a coworker who has a friend that's based in Boston who confirmed the rumor.

But think for a minute. New England has NOT signed Randy to a new deal. There is nothing new on a new deal with NE. He is a FA and will start visting teams. I can't be certain Tuesday will be the day, but I do expect him to visit Dallas.

Randy is using us to get his deal in NE -- that's fine -- we've got a good relationship with NE and that is how deals get worked out

Yeah, can you imagine the fight over the #81?

Who's the original #81?

That story would live all season long!

Patriots | Team not close to deal with Moss
Sat, 1 Mar 2008 21:22:27 -0800

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the New England Patriots are not close to a deal with free-agent WR Randy Moss (Patriots), according to source. Moss is beginning to listen to offers from other teams.

....the dominoes are about to fall. Jerry will get him here for a visit.

First of all, Jerry Jones knows what the fans want. I know this because of the idea I had of the Cowboys trading fergurson off for draft picks and release some cap space and renegotiate some players contracts and make things work in your favor, you can say the guys that renegotiated their contracts is basically putting their bets towards a superbowl ring.

I believe Romo, Kyle Kosier, Roy Williams, Akin Adoyle, and other players should get their contracts renegotiated where as so the money they get in their contract get negotiated down to later years for we could release up some cap space, but at the end everybody's happy (ask Greg Ellis).

Interesting.

I still would give us less than 10% chance, I think Moss is going to take his best offer back to NE and see if they match, which I am assuming they will.

Moss and TO on the same team is just crazy, would never work.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Randy Moss is "inching closer to the point of frustration" over the lack of contract progress with the Patriots.
We've seen this before, when Adam Vinatieri sat on the market, trying to convince teams he may not stay a Patriot. Other teams may be leery of being a pawn in negotiations, and only a few franchises have the cash and team to make sense. Philadelphia, Denver, Washington, and possibly Green Bay seem like the best fits to us. Dallas doesn't have the cap room.
