Rumor: Romo as backup?

He is saying all the right things. If he comes out and says "it's my team and I'm the starter" it's a lose lose for him. His best chance of handling this is doing what he just did. Say you are fine being the backup (which we all know is load of poo) but know that if Dak slips a few times they will turn back to you.

Romo is not the kind of guy to publicly shame his coach or owner so this isn't surprising. He is under contract, he really doesn't have a choice. He just needs to prepare every week like he is the guy in case we need hi..

While hoping that Dak doesn't slip because Dak is the guy that got your team to 7-1 and gives your team the best chance of a deep playoff run.

Just had to finish it for ya...

This just means (assuming CrapReport is even right, he's often wrong) that Tony will wait out the "hot hand" on the bench instead of the "is he ready"/inactive limbo. Nothing new, most of us assumed that would be the case.

Lmao. Thank you! Kids decided to all start yelling at once.

Hell, getting paid that much to not play sounds like one of the best jobs on earth. Where do I sign up?

Idiot Ed Werder is spewing his crap though...his "sources" inside the team are saying the team is fine as a group, but when tony is ready to return, some players feels it will effect the team.

As I said, he is an idiot.

Of course he's willing to be the backup. It's in the job description of NFL QB. You do the work and get ready to play. The coach decides who starts. Romo's been the backup before when Bledsoe was the starter.
Bold--> For 2016 perhaps. His willingness may be a totally different for 2017.

Rapoport was on earlier this morning reporting this and also saying Romo could be on the move this off season. He speculated 3 on teams that could be interested but I could add more pretty easily.

That would be ideal. Let Romo back up Dak, thus keeping Tony healthy. Trade him in the off season.

This situation of having two starting caliber quarterbacks won't last. That's for certain. He may very well be on another team next year. There are plenty of teams who need a real starter.

Well you can't get on the field if you're inactive. Not buying that he's open to the role. He says this and it gets him that much closer to playing.

Well at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if he's open to it or not.
