Rumor: Romo as backup?

i'd have to think Denver would be interested, their two rookies have been okay but they need to win now with that D and Romo gives them 2 quality years or so, be worth picks.
I take a first plus another mid round pick or a high second and third plus a late rounder.
(and no more second round injury or druggie gambles, just pick the best darn player that's healthy)

The notion that if Dak loses a game he loses the job is what bothers me.

I want this team to win and I don't give a rat's ankle who is under center. be it Dak or Romo or Pol Pot, I want to win.

But to hang the lose a game lose your job to a guy who has posted 7 wins in a row and was a point or so from the 8-0 mark doesn't make sense.

It isn't like this kid doesn't have enough on his plate to contend with.

It isn't fair, but neither is losing your job to injury. It was never his job anyway. The job he "earned" out of training camp was third string. The only thing any player deserves is for his paycheck to arrive in a timely manner.

Romo was 7-1 in his last 8 starts and averages more points

(Without zeke)

And didn't he get seriously hurt in the last three or was it four games he has played in. That's not a track record to move forward with when you are 7-1.

How many rookie QBs have won the Super Bowl as the starter?

Who cares! Romo's had 10 chances and how many has he won? Dak has already done things no other rookie QB has so maybe he gets that done to.

50 years of history going against us. I think only 4 rookie QBs have ever even won a playoff game. Shaun king, Flacco, Roethliesberger and Russell Wilson?

If he breaks his back again they'd probably pull him and put in a different player who is healthy

So what! None of that has anything to do with what Dak can accomplish.

You act like Romo is Tom Brady or somebody else. People should be more than willing to try something new as opposed to 10 years and 2 playoff wins from Romo.

More on the subject .

I don't know who told him (Rappaport, Werder, or whomever) that this was "difficult" for Tony, but I'm pretty sure Tony's inner circle is pretty small and that none of them would divulge that info. Now it may, indeed, be difficult for Romo, but this is just a case of Rappaport throwing his opinion out there while claiming "sources". I believe just about NOTHING that those guys throw out there under the guise of "sources tell me".

Jerry would rather go with the lynch mob and lose with Dak in the playoffs than risk the bolder move with Romo.

If tony Romo played for bill belichick and the patriots the last 10 yrs how many playoff wins and SBs would he have?

Nobody knows so don't claim you do either. He may have choked away every opportunity he had there to.

So you think Dak is gonna be the first QB in NFL history to take a team to the SB and win?

I'm just saying history is against that thinking
