Right! Our LBers for instance are a 5th round player from last year and a Safety. That doesn’t scream scary.
Yeah, but Jerry and Stephen won’t admit when they botch the roster. They just find a yearly scapegoat and keep doing what they’ve been doing. Jerry might make a drunken comment about the “man in the mirror” or whatever, even though we all know the only thing he does in the mirror is admire himself.

I think Jerry values Quinn over McCarthy.

Anything short of an NFC Championship appearance, and he's gone. And they'd better play well in that game, too.

I can go on with the examples for those of you who are saying Mac's job is safe and thread doesn't make sense. XXLMike is still trolling for a reaction, though. :muttley:
  • Doug Pederson went to 3 Tourneys in a row with the Eagles including a Super Bowl win. One losing season and was fired.
  • Tony Dungy went to 3 Tourneys in a row with the Buccaneers including an NFC Championship game. Last tourney he was one and done, and fired.
  • Jim Caldwell went to 2 Tourneys in a row with the Colts including a Super Bowl loss. One losing season and was still fired.
Best evidence you have to support that is Jerry holding on to his boy Garrett forever. None of his other coaches lasted that long.

Like the rest of us XXLMike is Euphoric tonight. ;) Though I think it is because the Gnats beat the Egals

The Eagles and Commanders will immediately be on the horn with Mike's Agent.

To turn around and hire Dan Quinn or Belichek?

Dumb
Dumb is repeating the same thing over and over and over and over.

If McCarthy spits the bit, again, early in the playoffs, why in the world would it make sense to continue?

And if we lose because of some notable coaching gaffes (like some bad late game decision), it's even more of a no brainer to me. McCarthy cannot lose that first playoff game Sunday. He just can't.

You have wanted the man gone since he was hired.

Since then, he was won the division twice and won 12 games three times in a row.

Most importantly, he fixed a broken QB and made him into an Mvp candidate.

The team loves him and he almost always has them ready to play. Firing him would be another stupid move from Jerry.

You lose to GB next week.

He should be done.
Will be interesting to see, he kept Garrett around for an eternity even after 3 straight 8-8 seasons. 12-5 is much more acceptable but maybe Jethro has an itchier trigger finger now.

Wonderful.

What's he done in the playoffs? If he loses early again, especially if he makes some coaching gaffes, I see no reason to keep him. But regardless of what we do we will keep him and it could turn into a Garrett situation where he does just enough to not get fired until we've wasted years.

There's really no reason why we shouldn't be facing the 49ers in the NFCCG. We will be favored in every playoff game until then.
