I heard about the same thing too... A whole lot of people was talking about it at work today.

From what I heard Offensive Tackle Mike Williams wanted to become a Cowboy but he knew it was likely the Bills to draft him, so he's interested.

Sowell probably has 2-3 years left in his tank...bigger Richie Anderson.

Coleman...nothing to get excited about...stop gap. I'm ok for a cheap price.

Akin...sounds like this is getting done.

Sounds believeable enough. I'd like to see some action soon just to keep people from jumping off a cliff...or worse, whining about it constantly ;)

I hope we do something soon. My only question would be, if we get AA from the Jags to play OLB why would we spend a 1st rounder on another OLB? I think if he signs, and if Coleman signs at FS and Mike Williams signs at RT, we go with a WR in the 1st (Chad Jackson or Holmes) whether or not we sign T.O. Just my thoughts. I can't see us spending to get a young OLB and then drafting someone who plays the same position. With the WR position if T.O. is signed, they are all 30 plus and will need to be replaced. This way no immediate pressure would be placed on the rookie to be a star, he would need to learn and contribute where he can and if someone (read Glenn or Crayton) goes down.

Why draft Lawson if we sign Akin? I thought Akin was going to the LOLB opposite Ware on the ROLB. Lawson also projects to an OLB. Seems like overkill.

I have a feeling that If Lawson were drafted, Ayodele would play on the inside of the LB core manning the run stop duties and Lawson would be the pass rushing LB on the left side. Even if Ayodele started on the outside, I don't think it should preclude us from drafting Lawson. If we play this whole thing out right, we can use the FA period to address need and use the draft to take the best available player regardless of position. It seems that the Cowboys may think Lawson will be that guy if he falls to us. Another guy that Cowboys fams should keep an eye on as far as a sleeper WR that can be had in the later rounds is the kid from the University of Wyoming (Boughknight (sp?)). I'm from Wyoming and I keep in touch with some friends from there. Appearantly he's pretty hot news locally, right now and one of the teams that keeps being associated with his name is Dallas.

Peace,
SS

Maybe Akin will play ILB if we get Lawson. Akin also gives us insurance in case we draft a college DE (like Lawson) who needed time to adjust to coverage.
