stolen from my board for a change vs. me taking stuff there. : )

-----
Sources in Atlanta are reporting Michael Vick will sign a plea bargin deal today....The sources are reporting he will receive a sentence of 12 to 14 months jail time.

That is time he must serve....The sentence will be higher but you must serve 80 percent of your sentence on a Federal charge.

The deal is supposed to be announced by 2 PM today.
-----

again, this is NOT confirmed and just the first i heard of a rumor and i wanted to pass it on.

If true that is a good amount of time

yea, i'm on the "i hate vick" bandwagon but a year out of his life - esp at this juncture - hurts and hurts bad. it also gives him a chance at "redemption" and a comeback *if* he really changes his ways.

question, if he does take that plea and is sentenced for a year or longer after he serves his time, will he be allowed back into the nfl? i've never heard of a player serving time in a jail due to federal charges and come back and play in the nfl, any one have any insight on that?

Jamal Lewis is one that served and came back (It was not a year but he did time)

It also does not surprise me Vick is going to plea out it is one thing to have 1 guy roll over (you can cast him as a bitter guy thrown off the property etc looking for paybacks) It is another story when you have 3 guys rolling over and testifying on you.

I would think that his NFL suspension will be significant and start AFTER his release from prison.

Would he go to Federal prison. Isn't that where a lot of the White collar criminals go. Live in the lap of luxury. He ought to be telling them to lock him up today so he will be back for TC next year.

I'd be disapppointed if the Feds accepted that deal. A year from now we would have to hear all about Vick all over again. I need more non-Vick time than that. :D

Not all Fed prisons are club fed type places. Some are pretty rough

I remember when that happen and he already had prior dui's; he then kills someone and they gave him a slap on the rest. I thought he should have gotten worse but the laws back then where cup cake back then about DUI's

Ok, but do you really believe he is going to one of the rough ones? If his lawyers were smart that would be part of the plea bargain.

I agree Big. If it were Joe Citizen, he'd be doing 5 years. I understand it's Vick but to me, that just makes it worse. He's not doing it for the money or to support a family, like that. He's doing it because he gets off on it. Another words, because he feels like it and that sucks.

I'd have to say that I would be very disappointed if he only got a year.
