Appears so. We finally get a rush and some want to dismantle it. Doesn't make much sense to me.

The rush is because of Wade Phillips... Greg was here when the rush wasn't all that...

Funny cause Greg was coming on in 06, his first year as an OLB, under Bill before tearing his achiles.

Prior to that he was a DE with pretty much zero help. It's a lot easier to block people from being good rushers, when you've only got one.

If this were true... and I'm highly suspicious of it... then it shakes up the draft, especially the McFadden sweepstakes. I think he probably falls to at least #6 then.

If the Phins trade Taylor for a tackle, that means the Jake Long talk at #1 is wrong and that the Phins will take Chris Long at #1 to replace Jason Taylor.

That puts the Rams to the decision of Ghloston or Jake Long. I think they go Gholston there and hope they can pick up a tackle at the top of the 2nd (maybe Cherilus if he still around).

My guess is Atlanta then goes with Jake Long after thinking about Dorsey and Ryan.

I think the Raiders than go with Dorsey to play on the line Sapp (with Kelly and Burgess on the ends). They will look at McFadden, but I think they would be happier to run out there with Fargas, Jordan and Rhodes at RB and Dorsey at DT than they would to have a luxury of McFadden at RB and a giant hole on the d-line.

The Chiefs still will go tackle at 6, which is either Clady or Otah.

So the top 5 would be:
1. Chris Long
2. Gholston
3. Jake Long
4. Dorsey
5. Tackle (Clady or Otah)

That puts the Jets to the McFadden question: do they take him or a CB. I'm almost positive that they take McFadden in that scenario. Or they trade down to who wants him (Dallas?). Or do the Jets go with a need and take the best CB to match him up with Revis to be an awesome young CB duo?

Hypothetically, lest say the Jets go CB... say McKelvin.

I don't think the Pats would take McFadden--they are set at RB--and have a big need at CB. Maybe DRC there.

At 8, Baltimore would take about 5 seconds before drafting Matt Ryan there.

Would the Bengals take McFadden at 9? Well, DT is a big need and Ellis would be a steal for them at 9. They have a full house at RB, but they would certainly consider McFadden heavily.

Would the Saints take a RB with Deuce and Bush?

_____________

My point is this: if this trade happens, it may add to the question marks about character surrounding DMAC and may push him down closer to 10. I think it is likely he could be there at 6 unless someone traded up for him. And I don't think it outside the realm of possibility that he could fall past 6 which means he could fall out of the top 10 (but more likely would become a bidding war as to who would jump up to get him with Dallas, Detroit, Arizona and Seattle interested.

Except that he won DPOY playing that role.

Yeah. Still I think he is a better pass rusher than he is an OLB falling back into coverage yada. Could he be as good as Ellis. Yeah maybe better in time on this defense. There is a learning curve despite his obvious knowledge of the game. Right now Ellis is a better fit for this defense.

And I don't think Taylor is perceived as a complete OLB package across the league either. Maybe I'm wrong though.

You'll need to think again on that. The Raiders wont be teaming him with Sapp, since Sapp retired. Then they resigned Tommy Kelly (A DE last year) to a 50 million dollar deal this off season.

I don't know but even as stupid as the Raiders are I don't see them giving one DT 50 million and then turning around, drafting another, and paying him 30 or 40 million as well for being a top 4 pick.
