according to walterfootball
is Deforest Bunkner.

It's in the NFL Draft Combine

LDE and 3T I'm guessing. DLaw would get switched over.

Would not surprise me given how much they value position flex.

I guess I dont understand the tampa2 rushman thing.
would someone explain how he fits? I know his talented.
but what is his get off ect?

DeForest Buckner DE Oregon

STRENGTHS
DeForest plays mostly in a 2-gap system. He has the size to impact in any style of defensive front, which is a good thing. He reminds me a lot of former Kansas City Chiefs DL Tyson Jackson who was the 3rd overall selection in the 2009 draft. Deforest has a lot of potential. He has the long arms and legs you look for in a pass rusher and the size to play more than one position on the defensive line. Deforest plays hard on every snap and looks like he has a very good work ethic. When he is allowed to shoot the gap and get into the backfield, he does a solid job of disrupting plays and causing confusion. Deforest should be a solid defensive lineman for the next level and given the time with better coaching he could turn himself into a more productive defensive lineman also.

CONCERNS
Deforest has very immature defensive lineman skills right now. He struggles to get off blocks consistently and when shooting the gap, it’s too easy to push him off balance because of his footwork. He needs to build up his leg strength and balance and must improve his hand strength to shed and make tackles. His football intelligence is lacking in identifying screens to his side. Additionally, down and distance tendencies of his opponent seem to be lacking from his repertoire. When Deforest is used on stunts, his arms move faster than his feet which is a coordination issue that will cause him problems with quickness to the play at the next level. Deforest is not double teamed very much and when it happens, he is not stout and is blown off the line sometimes five yards back. In conclusion, he has the talent and size, but he has a long way to go before he can take advantage of that talent and size for the next level.

TALENT BOARD ROUND: 2
I like Deforest’s potential to improve, but in the first round I’m expecting a more complete player and Deforest is not there at this point. I’m sure with better line coaching he can become more impacting because of his work ethic, so selecting him at some point in the draft, seems like a no brainer. I can see how some teams may want to draft him earlier than I suggest, but for me personally, I would wait for him to come to me and not me come to him. Selecting him earlier than I have him rated would not happen for me but selecting him later in the draft would be very smart. Remember Michael Strahan didn’t get selected until the 2nd round but then again, Michael dominated double teams and dominated his position. Deforest does not dominate his position or require double teams to take him out of a play.

DLaw is a nice player with a good future. Does anyone see him getting 12 sacks a year rushing the QB from the blind side? I do not but have been wrong before.

It would certainly fit what it looks like they have been trying to do. They built the O-line and they are trying to do the same to the D-line. DLaw, Crawford, Thornton and Rookie to go along with Refer-Boy rushing situationally when he is not suspended.

Walterfootball is a guy who owns a website. Not necessarily an insider.

Not that it means a thing but Walter football gets his info from Tony Pauline. I am sure they stumbled upon Joe Walker when they went to see Buckner.

I think Buckner could be in play if Bosa isn't there. I believe fans mistakenly believe that a 4-3 end in this scheme has to be a speed rusher. What Marinelli wants is a disruptive player and Buckner has a lot of potential in that regard. The reason I think Dallas would pick Bosa over Buckner is because Bosa is more ready-made for the pros. He already has counter moves and knows how to use his hands well.

I also think we'll know before the draft if this is Dallas' plan based on its free agent choices. The front office has stated that fixing the line is a priority so if little is done at end with Gregory set to miss four games, then I believe DE is the obvious choice. If we get a bona fide pass rusher in FA (and that's looking less likely), then Ramsey might be the target or a QB or Elliot. I'm not sure if the Claiborne re-signing would affect us going after Ramsey.

I call BS on this. The favorites far and away have to beBosa and Ramsey.

Buckner has as high a ceiling as any player in this class. He's a freak show. Give me as many monsters on the dline as possible.

I like Buckner better than Bosa, but the Draft is just too deep on the DL to pass up a talent like Zeke Elliot.

Buckner at 4 would be tough to swallow, but so would Elliott.

The only way this team is taking Elliott is if they trade down. There is no chance in hell they'll take a TB at 4, pay him $24MM in guaranteed money after being very public over the last year saying how they do not and will not spend a lot of money on the RB position.
