Rumors to Watch This Offseason

Of course we are cutting Owens and trading Barber and all of a sudden we are +20 mills over the cap PLUS missing two good players.

Who writes those kind of stupid things ?

I'm surprised that Kosier gets the "savior" tag because our line sucked when he was out. I honestly don't think he is bad, but have to agree that an upgrade is very doable. When you put Cory Proctor in his place, I guess I could understand Kosiers ascension to diety status....but keep it in perspective: it was Proctor replacing him so the drop-off looked huge. Also, you might remember Gurode was a stud guard before being named center. I would advocate finding a center who could get the count right and snap a shotgun and move Gurode to LG. Kosier is undersized compared to the rest of the line and now battling chronic injuries. Start shopping.

But, but, Gurode is a prowbowl center therefore he must be one of the best at his position right? Actually, I'm not down on Gurode at all. He needs help with his shtgun snaps but as far as blocking goes, I'm mostly ok. I think our whole blocking mentality needs to get a lot ( and I mean a lot) meaner. Flozell needs to go. People on this board ripped me apart last year when I said Jerry should let him go but after another year of his nonsense, after getting "paid" I might add, more and more people are starting to see his problems for what they are. I think he might be better suited to Guard ( a lot like Big ). He would be closer to Romo to hear the snap counts and he would not be as susceptible to dlinemen running around him. Put him at Guard and give one of our younger guys time on the outside and we would have the biggest line in football. If the other lineman was McQ we could probably scare the other team into 2 more yards per rush. :laugh2:

Kosier isn't going anywhere, it was very obvious the OL was not nearly as good when he was out.

T.O. isn't tradable at this point, besides I still want him.

Kyle Kosier - surprised to see him on here? Not me, I was never a big Kosier fan, of the five lineman, he’s been the most average of the group, couple him next to Adams, and its even worse. Clearly Jerry isn’t going to let Adams go this year, but I expect a change at LG, either by free agency or by the draft. Don’t give me, the line suffered this year because Kosier was injured, yes that’s true, but even when healthy he’s still average amongst the other beasts, he’s totally upgradable.

Sure he is upgradable but he is also very servicable. He is actually underrated in my oppinion. Upgrade and keep him. If the upgrade works, great. If not, you have a person in there. If you said Proctor, I could understand..

This blog was written by a complete dumb arse.

He never one time even thought about contracts and who got extensions and who has guaranteed money and the resulting cap hit, ect..........

This blogger thinks he is playing Madden...........

I'm sorry, the Terrence Newman bit makes no sense. First, we need him. The CB position would be much, much weaker without him. Second, as the writer points out, Newman has been hurt the past two years. Who would trade anything worthwhile for that? You trade players when their stock is high or when they become expendable. Neither of those apply to Newman.

Brad Johnson - its just a matter of time before Johnson get’s his walking papers. He was a decent option 2 years ago, but after watching him last preseason, and this past season, he is past his playing years. He’s gone.

Do they include a cane? Or for that matter, I am in for $20 to provide him wheelchair access off of VR.

Carpenter is not going anywhere. He's cheap and he's a very good special team player. Doesn't make any sense to cut him if the Cowboys expect to improve the special teams. Particularly when they're saying they're not going to be big players in the free agent market.

He's the Saigon Hooker of the Cowboys:lmao2:

And just to show that I am willing to pile on a blogger as well as a so called professional this guy
seems to forget that both Newman and Barber signed extensions so that ANY team that trades for them has to pay THOSE contracts.

I think you'd have suitors lined up.

Yeah, the new team has to pick contractual obligations going forward but the associated signing bonuses would be free to both their cash flow and their cap. The annual salary of T-New & Barber contracts are probably bargains without the related signing bonus.

Dallas on the other hand would get all the cap pain for monies already paid.
