Run defense is still an issue

Even though Cowboys improved in amount of yards given up they still need to get better in run defense because they will face at least two teams that can run the ball with a QB that can throw the ball to compliment it instead of having 5 turnovers.


Front office should consider signing Star Lotulelei and beef up the middle like Eagles did with Suh & Joseph,

Not saying the run defense has been fixed, but it has clearly improved. However, we’ll have to see how it holds up against a good running team that has a mobile QB.

The run defense struggled early on, but turned it up in the 2nd half and shut the Colts down.

My big fear with the run defense right now is actually our Cb depth. The cowboys are in a spot where they may not have the ability to put extra defenders in the box. Need Bland/Joseph to step up or else you’re stuck playing cover 2/3/4 all game against philly. Need someone other than diggs you can trust 1v1 on occasion.

His belief is if you force a team to move the ball 75 yards running it that they can stop them from getting 7 points much of the time. He fears the passing game getting chunk yards over 4-5 yard runs. Right or wrong it sure looks like that’s his belief and for the most part he’s been right. The packers ran the ball well but they beat us on big passing plays, not running the ball

The reason the game was close until the 4th quarter was due to their running game controlling the T. O.P. and helping the defense out. If it wasn’t for the poor QB play they would had more than 106 yards.

The run defense looked pretty dam good last night. Only gave up one run decent run to Taylor who was supposed to run all over the Boys last night.

They've tightened things up pretty well lately.
