You do know 3 carries at 4.25 is a first down.
That's the old school math on running the football, but in todays game I don't think it holds the same weight as it did 20 years ago. This is great to evaluate a guy like Zeke. If he is getting 4-4.5 YPC he is destroying a defense typically. For home run hitters like the players mentioned I think you take 4.25 and be OK with that. These guys will all hit you a time or two each game with longer runs that will bump that YPC. None of these guys are really consistent 3-5 yard gainers who are going to churn out first down after first down averaging 4ish YPC. It's typically 12 yards here, 1 yard next carry, 2 the next.
JT was at 3.9YPC with a 19 yarder he ripped off
Barkley was at 3.5 with a 10 yard long
Cook was at 6.5 with a 17 yard long run
Not much damage was done to the Cowboys on the ground these games.
