Run-first offense?

We'll, you need a respectable passing game to help your running game. And you need a respectable running game to help your passing game.
it's vicious cycle....unless you're the early 90s cowboys, who did anything it wanted.

We need to run on teams we can run on and pass on the teams we need to pass on....JG says stuff like "We run the ball thats what we do"....got news for you guys..with a healthy OL last year we werent going to run over the TB DL..KM needs to shceme his offense to use our strengths and exspose thier weaknes. Might need to use short passing game to move the chains, give the defense a chance to shine...but GOD PLEASE DO NOT "Do what we do"!!!!
Take what the defense gives you!

Why would you consistently try to run into a very solid front when you can pass around and over it.
Why would you consistently try to throw against a top rated pass D when you can run through it.

Take what the D gives you most of the time. Only on occasion run it or pass it, when they know that’s what you are going to do.

I hope, and think, Moore is going to use this plan this year.

Of course this team should run 1st. The question is can they run effectively. Can they move the chains?

Teams will stack the box and dare Dak and his pathetic WR corp to challenge them.

the problem last year was not when box was stacked ( may be after Zeke injury) but when the teams stopped run with front 4 and dared Dak to throw in zone coverage.

I dont think WR Corp is pathetic, Lamb , Dalton , Noah, Turpin can hold fort until Gallop is back .

Yep, we've yet to see Tolbert and Fehoko face off against starting caliber opponent CB2s. I'm not real confident in either. Noah Brown is a jag imo.

Like you said, I think the defenses will stack the box and bracket coverage on CeeDee and dare Dak and the unproven guys to beat 'em.

The Cowboys will be trading a #1 pick in the middle of the season for a WR.

Plus this OL doesn't give me the warm fuzzies when it comes to being disciplined and penalty free. I fear we will see a lot of
2nd and 20, 3rd and 15 which will force this offense to open up and get out of the run oriented game plan. You need a powerful and disciplined OL to pound it, whether its Zeke, Pollard or Davis.

Agreed. This line will give us 3 things:

1. Little pass protection
2. A poor run game
3. Lots of drive killing penalties
3a. Might get our QB killed

I know, right. Weird when a team like KC can replace ALL 5 of their OL in one offseason and still go to the AFC championship.
Other successful teams seem to overcome starter OL losses as well.. Dallas loses one starter on the OL and they look like the keystone cops.
