Score was tied 9-9 in the third quarter. Picks happened in the first half.
Yes....2 picks gave SF 2 FG's and cost Dallas at least a FG which was the difference in the game....hence stop blaming the running game when the defense did the job that should have won the game if not for Captain INt Prescott.

Because those of us who pay attention knew this was coming. Without Pollard, Zeke is hot garbage and there is no running game. This is also due to their refusal to use Malik Davis.
Hate to break it to you but Malik Davis isn't the answer.

Why is nobody lamenting the failure to run the ball?

Rushing Yards: 76
Without Dak runs: 54

Rushing Avg: 3.4
Avg without Dak runs: 3.0

Pollard Avg: 3.7
1 run for 10 yards
5 runs for 12 yards (2.4 avg)

Zeke: 2.6 avg
Think fixing their run game is a priority off-season need, especially with the firing of Philbin

The run game failed because the passing was so horrible! 9ers dared Prescot to beat them.

Anyone not mentioning OL play baffles me.....OL middle is like the open sea. Fix/address the OL for the better, and runs will improve.....regardless if a healthy TPollard is back there.

Seek help.

Dak is 100000x the man you'll ever be.

Your infatuation with a young, rich, successful celebrity is WEIRD.

Total refusal to utilize Malik Davis. I don't think these idiots look at film. Malik should have been part of the game plan but the fo and coaches were focused on Zekes belief that "he still has it" . Those idiots are always the last to notice.

Dak's win rate is over 95% when:
- Cowboys rush for over 100 yards.
- Opponent rushes for less than 140 yards.

It's close to 100% when they commit 5 or less penalties and meet the above criteria.

They are a run to setup the pass team.

Same concept that won 3 Super Bowls.

Texas rb step right up! Rookie contract, young blood, 5 years, Dak needs a ferocious run game. Ty…
Hate the thought of taking a RB with first pick, but that pick would not surprise this fan at all.

Ground game needs a total overhaul, bring a better center and LG, but more important bring a better scheme, mix it up, more speed on the RBs too.

Is tiresome to look at our RBs hit the backside of our Olinemen or getting tackled on the back of the LOS.

Also the QB should rely more on his legs instead of forcing the throws.

Oh I've been very critical of the run game the past week or so, and I knew the game was over when Pollard went down.

We try have to force Zeke into many rushing situations because of his contract (and he's not the best pass catching back either), and our run designs aren't exactly conducive to consistent success. The musical chairs that was our OL down the stretch didn't help matters either.

We are so horny for delays and draw plays that it's nauseating. RB has to be a need in the first four rounds in April. I've seen enough.
and without the pics they may have been up 15-6 at minimum, maybe 20-6
Yah right

Not with Prescot in the back field. Teams are loading the box and daring Prescot to throw the ball and we all know how that worked out for the 9ers! Cowboy Nation has had it with all the Dakota "WENTZ 2.0" Prescot stats because they don't mean squat! WENTZ 2.0 is a big game chocker at best who implodes under pressure! If the Cowboys want to sniff a SB they've got to find a way to unload WENTZ 2.0!

Well, the truth is, you're playing the number one defense, in their house.

And then the other thing is Pollard got hurt, which made us too predictable because then they relied on Zeke, who's not even as good as some of the players we have on the practice squad. The fact that Missing Maher was sabotaging the team with his money misses didn't help the Cowboys much.

The other thing is TOP.

After the 2nd half was over, when the 9ers decided to just sit where they were and run the clock out, they came out again and ate up the clock, forcing us to have to play from behind.

That said, I absolutely do not understand playing Zeke. As soon as Pollard went out, I was calling for them to insert Davis into the game. This was a game where you might even consider calling up a guy like Qadree Ollison, and using him to smash defenders and wear down the defense.

Ollison is better than Zeke, and I think they would have been wise to begin the game with a back like that, and then utilize Tony Pollard in the 2nd half. They had the defense to keep it close enough to use that strategy; they just counted on a player who already proved you cannot count on him. Then, there's the whole 2-3 day advantage they had on preparing for this game, 3 if you count the time it took to travel.

Running the ball very likely wasn't going to be in the cards, and any coach who did their due diligence would have known that, and strategized accordingly.

  • It was early in the 3rd quarter when the score was tied at 9-9. The Cowboys had 4 possessions afterwards.

  • After 9-9:
    • Cowboys scored 1 Field Goal
    • Niners scored 1 Field Goal + 1 TD
