Why is nobody lamenting the failure to run the ball?

Well, the truth is, you're playing the number one defense, in their house.
And then the other thing is Pollard got hurt, which made us too predictable because then they relied on Zeke, who's not even as good as some of the players we have on the practice squad. The fact that Missing Maher was sabotaging the team with his money misses didn't help the Cowboys much.
The other thing is TOP.
After the 2nd half was over, when the 9ers decided to just sit where they were and run the clock out, they came out again and ate up the clock, forcing us to have to play from behind.
That said, I absolutely do not understand playing Zeke. As soon as Pollard went out, I was calling for them to insert Davis into the game. This was a game where you might even consider calling up a guy like Qadree Ollison, and using him to smash defenders and wear down the defense.
Ollison is better than Zeke, and I think they would have been wise to begin the game with a back like that, and then utilize Tony Pollard in the 2nd half. They had the defense to keep it close enough to use that strategy; they just counted on a player who already proved you cannot count on him. Then, there's the whole 2-3 day advantage they had on preparing for this game, 3 if you count the time it took to travel.
Running the ball very likely wasn't going to be in the cards, and any coach who did their due diligence would have known that, and strategized accordingly.
