Jerry only said that to save face because he got taken to the woodshed by Micah and his agent. With that said, Micah and that salary wasn’t going to help the team anyways.

The cowboys defense was #1 in the league in EPA per play with Micah on the field and #31 without him.

The Cowboys defense this season clearly shows they are pathetically awful and the worst in the league without him.

But yes. Those of us who wanted to keep him are football morons.

lmao Dallas is quite possibly 5-1 right now if they had Micah. That's how many close loses and ties he would have been enough to push this team over the edge. Can argue all you want but we all know it's the truth.

And that doesnt mean I think this is a good team, just talking about how close the margins have been. Remember this was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule.
 
What a trade that proved to be for us! We're so serious about the run and pass that we'll trade away our best player and get worse at both and also employ a DC who plays a system that doesn't fit any of our other good players, too

I mean it’s smarter to trade for draft picks than put a 48 million dollar edge rusher on it. It was bad last year.

We are already paying our other starting DT nearly $20 million a year. With him and Clark what more do you think this team is going to do at DT?

They are what they are. LB, sure. But at this point, we either Cut Clark after the season or you are looking at our starting DT's for the next couple of years. Scheme change may help, but that would be 4 years in a row(ish).
 
Ever since the Rams walked all over us in 2019 it seems like the Cowboys just completely suck at stopping the run. Should have been the first thing fixed

In sure Eberflus and Schottenheimer were mad about the deal. The entire defensive system that was out in depends on getting pressure on the quarterback with the front four and very little blitzing.

It requires a great edge rusher. Shocker, we had one until the week of the season opener.

Jerrry, the dummy that he is, doesn’t understand the flex or the zone or anything else for that matter, so just made his stupid decision because he was mad and insecure.

No surprise that the defense sucks.
 
I agree but it is not just Micah. Having Micah and Mazi starting on this defense does not make it better. The move Jerry had to make was to acquire a good DT to play along side Micah. He could have had a choice of them last year when a bunch were free agents. Or, he could have drafted 1 in this year's draft because there were a bunch of them. But Jerry doesn't think that way. He made it an either or proposition and that is why he is a bad GM.

But I do think it is safe to say everything he told us after trading Micah was total BS. Now, we can't stop the run or rush the passer.
