This game against Cleveland is such a great game on many levels. It’s opening day and on the road. Both teams have questions and injuries. What’s Watson going to look like? What’s the Cowboys running game going to look like? But it all boils down to being such a fantastic test from a physical team that can run the ball and stop the run against the Cowboys who have failed to do both of late. That’s been their cryptonite for a few years now and this will be a great test.

To negate the pressure from Garrett and the others, I’m hoping MM tries to establish the running game often, a lot, more often and more a lot. It will allow the young offensive line to get into at least the current game flow rhythm and help the Cowboys dominate in a physical game. It will also send a message to the rest of the NFL. “Look, the Cowboys can actually run the ball!”

I want to run the ball because I want to unleash these young offensive linemen on the league. The size of this offensive line is impressive and I’m hoping and anticipating they will give Cleveland fits. I’m more confident in run blocking than pass blocking until I see how Guyton responds. But let’s take pressure off Dak, control the block and let this young offensive line form an identity and dominate.

Let’s go Cowboys!!!!

Yes, Rocky, yes. I couldn't agree more. Establishing an effective running game early will be critical to this game. Save the fireworks of our passing attack for later. Controlling the game on the ground will frustrate the Brown's defense and get them out of their element. The passing lanes will open up in the season and third quarter. That's when Dak shreds the Brown's secondary with his superior weapons catching the ball, including the TEs. The Browns will be tested to keep up, but if they do, the Cowboys will need to revert back to that "ground and pound" game they established in the first quarter. Get the lead early and keep it by keeping the ball and killing the clock.

Run the BALL and play super duper Defense someone needs to be carried big time and we all know who that is!!!
P.S. Now don't forget Cowboy players we need to jump out to a lead in the score and provide our offense at least 3 turnovers!!!

You’re obsessed and it’s getting more extreme. It seems you can’t make a single post without your obsession.

You accused others of putting one man above the team as you pull for the team to lose so you can say you’re right on the internet.

They’re going to throw a heavy rotation of Zeke and Dalvin out to the NFL early this year only to find out Rico was their best RB. Until he gets hurt again.

But yeah, love that offensive line. Can’t wait to see them in action. There will be some growing pains for sure, but I’m optimistic the trio of Guyton-Smith-Beebe can dominate the same way Tyron-Zack-Fredbeard did.

I think we have a good chance at stopping the run adequately.
1.) Chubb is out. They still have a guy who can run (name slipping my mind), but he's no Chubb.
2.) Their running game is more scheme than Oline talent. Zim is a scheming coach. He will disrupt the scheme.
3.) Bill Callahan is no longer in Cleveland.

Rocky is nervous cause it’s put up or shut up time now that the real games start.

He’s getting the excuses ready.

I can see it now come Sunday evening.

“We lost cause we didn’t run enough because either our RBs suck or our OLine sucks! Or Both! Dak can’t do it by himself!”

This will be the excuse if we lose regardless of how the RBs or OLine plays.

Rocky is just setting it up to use it later.

"Zeke up a-gap for a gain of two... Zeke up a-gap for a gain of 1... Check down to Zeke, he turns up field, gain of 4... 3 and out"

Stuff of my nightmares. Lol
There's a stat from the GB game last year (I don't remember it exactly) where the Cowboys had 2nd and 8+ around 7 times in the first half. They threw the ball one time, and it was a 20+ yard completion lol.

They've been better under McCarthy, generally, but forcing the run has crippled this offense a lot of times.

Well it was a dream. In real life, it would have been different and a first down.

Well, there you have it. If Zeke was with us for the GB game. We establish the run, and go on to win.
Instead we had Pollard and INT machine throwing the ball.

Zeke would have been a game changer.

What? No. The decision to run the ball was the problem, not who the RB was.

The scheme put the offense at a disadvantage, especially since the defense was playing terribly

And if I'm Cleveland I load up to stop the run to make Dak beat me while trying to double Lamb every chance I got. Ferguson could have a big day with those optics. Would that be enough?
