How much is this Linehan or is it Romo simply calling a audible at the line? It makes no sense to run all the way to the red zone just to throw it. None at all.

If any of that were true in any way, Romo would either have that privilege taken away or be be benched outright.

No he wouldn't. Romo has a pass to audible out of plays. And he should. We were 3rd in the league in redzone efficiency. He's been a great QB here and a franchise QB. I get why he has it. Why he's doing it is why he does it. And did they not confirm last year in the redzone Romo would audible out and go into another play just for it to fail? Its getting far too cute in the redzone.

We were effective on whatever-and-short a couple times today against a pretty good interior DL. I think we'll see more of it as the season wears on.

For me, though, as long as the receivers are open on those plays, I don't mind the pass being called. Especially with the back shoulder fades to Dez being an option.

I had more of an issue real early when we got the FG.

Less than a yard for a 1st down at the 2 and two downs to get it ...an almost 100% certainty that 1-2 runs get a 1st down or TD. Yet we throw the ball. Romo gets sacked..now 3rd and long. We end up with 3.

Also later. 4 down territory and 1st and goal at the 5.
Yes, Romo (who was out of whack much of the day) blew it, but we for SURE could've run it in.

I'm agreeing with you. I just want answers why he's doing it. Because he may be losing his mind. Forget his back problems. His football IQ may be what's hurting him.

I'm a Romo fan. I take the bad with the good because I know the good will outweigh the bad. But that's why this frustrates me so much. How can you do something so stupid and be such a smart player? It should be a cause for concern.

Especially given his age and experience. These are mistakes a good rookie doesn't make. Teammates look at this film and know what he did out there and he'll lose their confidence quick.

Well, when you put the ball on the ground, that gets scooped up & taken in for a TD for the Other team, should they jump for joy? Murray ran the ball plenty in this game, even after that screw up. The ball WAS "Friggin" ran. Murray getting more touches, wasn't going to change the outcome of that game. They were just better than us.

Run the ball until the other team can actually stop the run! SF was not stopping our running game at all (Murray was averaging like 5 yds per carry), so why divert from something that works??

The fact that this has been happening for a while and the head coach has done nothing about it tells you all you need to know about Garrett.

He is the head coach after all. All he has to do is say "give the ball to Murray" and "no audibles" and the problem is fixed. But he can't seem to do that.

Why do we make it so hard? We were picking up 5-6 yards a carry...there should be no hesitation or time-outs just quick snap and run it down their throats for TD's. When they prove they can stop it...throw some fades to Dez.
