Running attack

Not when the score is pretty close.

We've pretty much had very close games for the entire season. Yet we keep throwing the ball like crazy.

35+ pass attempts is a lot. 50 is a ton.

If you're throwing 50 pass attempts a game and you're within a TD for about 85% of the year, it's easy to see that the gameplan is geared towards throwing the ball a ton instead instead trying to keep the offense balanced.

I could see if we were down a lot of points and our defense was a sive, but that hasn't been the case. We've just neglected the run for whatever reason.

Again, you're still confusing cause and effect. If the "formula" for winning was to pass less than 36 times and run more than 25 times, then we could just run the ball on every down and win every game –*correct? Of course, you know it doesn't work that way. So, your "formula" is not a way to win, it's the result of winning.

The truth is, by most accounts we did get away from the run. We only had 26 runs, and 8 of them came when Dallas was up 24-6 in the 4th quarter trying to run out the clock. If we had been behind instead of up by 3 scores, the run pass balance would have been more like the first two games.

When you consider that 5 or 6 runs were called in the first drive, about half the runs were called on the first and last drive.

We normally pass it between 55/60 % and run it 40/45%. It changes based on game circumstances.

We were at 60/40 pass until late in the game...the run it more/Garrett sucks crowd just wanted a stat to hang their hat on.

It is not the ratio it is the result.

It is all about execution.
